At the ''[[Survivor Series#2004|2004 Survivor Series]]'', [[Triple H]], Batista, [[Gene Snitsky]], and [[Adam Copeland|Edge]] were to face-off against [[Maven Huffman|Maven]], [[Chris Jericho]], [[Chris Benoit]], and [[Randy Orton]] in an 8-Man Elimination Tag Match for control of ''RAW'' over the following month (the members of the winning team would each be the ''RAW'' [[List of authority figures in professional wrestling|general manager]] for a week). In an attempt to persuade Batista to challenge [[WWE Championship|WWE Champion]] [[John Layfield|John "Bradshaw" Layfield]] rather than Triple H, Triple H concocted a scheme that saw him attempt to have Batista [[Hit and run (vehicular)|run over]] in a [[limousine]] resembling the one used by Layfield. Initially, Dave didn't want help from Evolution and wanted to confront JBL by himself. Triple H insisted that Evolution stick together and accompanied Dave anyway. In fact, it was Triple H that saved Dave from the oncoming vehicle. The two [[regional language]]s have no official status with regards to the state, although they are supported by the regional authorities within the strict constitutional limits: [[Breton language|Breton]], strongest in the west but to be seen all over Brittany, is a [[Celtic language]] most closely related to [[Cornish language|Cornish]] (Breton has in fact slightly more in common with Cornish than Welsh), and [[Gallo language|Gallo]], which is spoken in the east, is one of the [[Oïl languages]].
On [[May 23]], [[2005]], Batista successfully defeated [[Adam Copeland|Edge]] to retain his title. After the match, Batista was betrayed by Ric Flair, who helped Triple H viciously attack the champion. Now restricted to a much reduced territory in the east of Brittany, Gallo finds itself under pressure from the dominant Francophone culture. It is also felt by some to be threatened by the Breton [[language revival]] which is gaining ground in territories that were never part of the main Breton-speaking area.
