Tolkien
<!--
Dunharrow stands above a cliff on the valleys eastern side, parallel to the Dwimorberg mountain itself. Beyond Dunharrow is a forest of pine wood and fir, known as the Dimholt.
The Dimholt itself contains a small glen, which holds a standing stone (the Stone of Erech) that lies in front of a doorway that leads to the Paths of the Dead. The paths lead under the Dwimorberg and were in the Third Age haunted by the spirits of the Men of the Mountains. These Men had sworn an oath to fight for Gondor against Sauron. But they failed to fulfil it and Isildur the king of Gondor cursed them, never to rest until they had fulfilled their oaths.
Aragorn eventually allowed them to finally fulfil their oath, and they were released to go in peace. After the great events at the end of the Third Age, then, the Dwimorberg was haunted no longer.
