The film is highly anticipated as it marks the end of Kajol's four year sabbatical from the film industry. Also is features her first time pairing with Aamir Khan. The two worked together in [[Ishq]], but were not paired opposite each other.

According to sources, Aamir Khan will play the role of a terrorist whilst Kajol will play a Kashmiri girl, though this is not confirmed. The film began shooting in September is to be released in 2006.

Currently the film is being shot in several historical locations in Delhi. A shooting schedule is set to begin shortly in the city, including locations such as Red Fort, Jantar Mantar, Qutub Minar, Purana Qila and Lodhi Gardens.

Aamir Khan has sported a new youngish look for this movie, quite a contrast to his moustache-twirling antiques in The Rising. Kajol, apparently, has also lost a significant amount of weight in lieu of her big comeback. Tabu and Shiny Ahuja have also been roped in for this movie. The two have been cast opposite each other. Earlier, gossip magazines had quoted that Kajol and Aamir were abstaning from attending shooting schedules, due to differences in opinion with regards to the script. However, both actors and the director have claimed the rumors to be fallacious.
