The conceptidea arosewas outfirst ofdeveloped in a Brazilian social [[start-upurbanism]] that promoted Social [[Urbanismstart-up]], founded by Van der Vaart,. thatThe company had to manage a large amount of data usingand used [[spreadsheets]] to store and analyze all the information.

In order to createautomate automatedtheir processes and data workflows, based onthe this data theyteam needed a way to connect their spreadsheets and automate the transfer of data between them. One year later, in 2009, Van der Vaart and Gomes da Silva (who at that time led the IT department for the Social Urbanism company), created an application to enable this data transfer in [[spreadsheets]]. Sheetgo, was widely validated in 2010 by several multinational tech companies specialized in technology, when Vanthe der Vaart and Gomes da Silvafounders were invited to present itthe insystem at [[Mountain View, California|Mountain View]] ([[California]]). In 2015, the application was officially launched under the name "Import Sheet". Aand a year later, in February 2016, Van der Vaart, Gomes da Silva, Pittman and Vidal began to dedicate themselves exclusively to the company, after beingwas selected for investment by a Brazilian technology accelerator. That same year they were also selected for investment by a Spanish [[seed accelerator]], which led to the transferrelocation of part of the team to Spain.
