The API has deprecated the term "specific gravity". See, for example, Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards Chapter 11.1 (2004) section A.10<ref>Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards Chapter 11.1 (2004) section A.10</ref>:

As this article relates to the API gravity, it would make sense to use API terminology. Should SG therefore be removed, and replaced by RD?
