With accordance to Wikipedia:Naming conventions, I think this should be moved to dual inheritance theory. Are there any reasons why it should have a long and capitalized name? Also, this needs a lead section.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus [[User_talk:Piotrus|<font colorstyle="color:green;">Talk</font>]] 00:41, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Separating cultural evolution and DIT
The cultural evolution part of this should be split off into its own article, and the DIT article should discuss only those processes and findings related to the interaction between biological and cultural evolution. <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.99.137.201 (talk) 08:39, 24 July 2012 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

The Dual Inheritance Theory is not the same as Gene-Culture Coevolution theory and this article should be edited to reflect this comparison. <!-- Template:Unsigned IP --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8801:5:A000:8C97:5AA8:14A4:F565 (talk) 19:45, 4 October 2020 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Proposed merge of Biocultural evolution
"Biocultural evolution" seems to simply be a synonym for gene-culture coevolution/dual inheritance theory. I suggest we merge that article into this. == Development of the Page ==

Hi everyone.
I'm going to try and help develop this page as an assignment. I've had some pointers on where to go with it already from Joe Roe (thanks a lot!), with the general gist to make it more about DIT rather than just cultural evolution.
I was going to start by aiming to elaborate on 'Social learning and cumulative cultural evolution' section, looking to expand on the conditions for social learning and add how gene and culture interacted to kick-start the cumulative cultural evolution process.
Drawing the line on what should go into the cultural evolution page, and what should go here seems to be one of the main challenges, but I look forward to it!
