The User Mode Driver Framework is also availible in Windows XP (and maybe other versions as well). It wasn't "first introduced with Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system" as the author claims. Also, classes do not need to derive from CUnknown, it is only one of many possibilities to write COM-components. I would also give information about the purpose of IUnknown (...
