Much of this page was written from memory - I worked with the Atari professionally at NASA in the early 1980's, and was very fond of OSS products. I realize that more references are needed.

In Jan 1988, ICD and OSS merged. That was the official announcement. What really happened was the authors and/or rights holders to BASIC XL/XE, Mac/65, Action, etc. sold their interests to ICD. Actually, so far as I know, the only author who negotiated separately with ICD was Steve Lawrow. We did simply sell our rights (and inventory and mailing lists and the key to the rest room) to ICD. -- Bill Wilkinson 24 May 2006

: OSS never sold Apple II products. Mostly we just ran out of time and energy, I think. If I recall correctly, I think we even stated we were going to release Apple versions (in the very first KiloBaud ad?? wish I still had a copy of that to check), but we never did. --Bill Wilkinson 24 May 2006
