'''Tino Lettieri''' (born [[27 September]] [[1957]] in [[Bari]], [[Italy]]) is a former [[NASL]] and [[Major Soccer League|MISL]] professional [[soccer]] [[goalkeeper]], who represented Canada twice at the [[Summer Olympics]]: [[1976]] and [[1984]].
The villains in [[Kamen Rider Kabuto]] series are called '''Worms''', alien lifeforms that came from a meteor that destroyed the city of Shibuya seven years prior to the series' timeline. However, it is also shown that worms existed on Earth prior to the coming of the Shibuya Meteorite.
Raised in [[Canada]], Lettieri began his pro career with the [[Minnesota Kicks]] in [[1977]] and played there until [[1981]]. He went on to play the [[Vancouver Whitecaps]] in '82 and '83 and the [[Minnesota Strikers]] in '84. He was named NASL North American Player of the Year in 1983 and had the league's best Goals Against Average in both '82 and '83.
==General Background==
Worms blend into the human population by copying the face of their victims before killing them (usually by means of draning them of all their bodily fluids or poison stings), reminiscent of the ''Pod People'' from [[Invasion of the Body Snatchers]]. The Worms are able to copy their victims perfectly, gaining their memories as well enabling them to blend in almost perfectly. There are still somethings that Worms can't copy, such as someones scent and such. Their first form (pupa form) looks like a [[chrysalis]], but when threatened, the creatures can "molt" into a more powerful forms which enables them to move at blinding speed. Apparently, they do not need to naturally molt, as evidenced when Tendou (in Masked Form) shattered Bellcricetusworm's "cocoon" skin with the Avalanche Break. They seem to take pleasure in stealing their victims' identities. Furthermore, they can use multiple stolen forms to fit into the crowd. In addition, if their victim survives their attack and they cross paths with him/her again, they immediately go into a violent temperament in order to "finish the job." When a Worm is destroyed, it explodes in the predominant color.
Lettieri earned 24 caps for [[Canadian national soccer team|Canada]] and was their first-choice goalie from 1980 until the [[1986 FIFA World Cup]], where he played two of Canada's three matches.
===Special Worms===
Among the Worms appeared on the series there are some special Worms. A stronger type of pupa Worm appears with white skin instead of the usual green in episode 14. This "white Worm" was destroyed by ''Drake's'' '''Rider Shooting'''. Later a leader of executive Worm, Rena Mamiya/Ucaworm, appears along with three other executive Worms (Genomyasworm, Cammarusworm, and Cochleaworm) in episode 25. A Native, a worm that is native to Earth, appears in episode 35. Tachikawa Daigo, the Native, has the ability to summon any Zecters he wants and transform into any Rider. He seems to want to protect people and not kill them, and believes the Zecters are created to defeat alien worms.
Lettieri was a regular in the original [[Major Soccer League|MISL]]. He continued to play for the Strikers as the team joined the indoor league, playing the 1984-85 season through to 1987-88. Lettieri was voted Goalkeeper of the Year for the 1986-87 season.
The main motif of the Worms are of [[Arthropods]] specifically [[insects]]. Rena Mamiya/Ucaworm and Cammarusworm are so far the only [[crustacean]]-type Worms. The Cochleaworm is surprisingly a [[mollusk]] (a [[gastropod]]).
