With over 2K GScholar hits, this is a notable topic in optimization. The article reads well and has a good number of inline citations to reliable sources, mostly peer-reviewed papers. The article is heavier on the functional analysis and lighter on the applications, along the lines of the first reference; one suggestion for improvement would be to expand the application section a bit. But the article has no problems, and is ready for mainspace. Well done. --Mark viking (talk) 20:50, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

:After moving the article to the main space, I discovered there is also an article Proximal Gradient Methods that seems to be on a similar topic. How are these articles supposed to be related? -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 12:08, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
