È formato da due capi:

Il '''muscolo adduttore dell'alluce''' ('''Adductor obliquus hallucis''') è un muscolo del piede bicipite che flette e adduce l'[[alluce]].

* Il capo obliquo, più largo, origina dall'osso cuboide, dal 3° osso cuneiforme e dalle ossa metatarsali 2°, 3° e 4°. Si inserisce, assieme al fascio laterale del flessore breve dell'alluce, alla base laterale della prima falange.

È formato da due capi

* Capo trasverso. Il capo trasverso origina dalle articolazioni metatarsofalingeemetatarso-falangee del 3°, 4° e 5° dito. Si inserisce lateralmente alla base della prima falange assieme al muscolo flessore lungo dell'alluce.

==Capo obliquo==

Il capo obliquo, più largo, origina dall'osso cuboide, dal 3° osso cuneiforme e dalle ossa metatarsali 2°, 3° e 4°.

Si inserisce, assieme al fascio laterale del flessore breve dell'alluce, alla base laterale della prima falange.

==Capo trasverso==

Il capo trasverso origina dalle articolazioni metatarsofalingee del 3°, 4° e 5° dito. Si inserisce lateralmente alla base della prima falange assieme al muscolo flessore lungo dell'alluce.

==Oblique head==

The ''oblique head'' is a large, thick, fleshy mass, crossing the foot obliquely and occupying the hollow space under the first second, third, and fourth metatarsal bones.

It arises from the bases of the second, third, and fourth metatarsal bones, and from the sheath of the tendon of the Peronæus longus, and is inserted, together with the lateral portion of the [[Flexor hallucis brevis]], into the lateral side of the base of the first [[Phalanx bones|phalanx]] of the [[great toe]].
