:According to our article on [[List of American Aero Squadrons]], the 169th Aero Squadron was established on 15 December 1917. It was a planned American Expeditionary Force squadron from 4 March 1918 to May 1919. It trained as an Observation Squadron in England, but never entered combat. It was demobilized in May 1919.
