Stephanie Josephine Hoyland (née Scully) is a fictional character on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. She entered the series in 1999, originally played by Emma Roche, but replaced by Carla Bonner after only three weeks of filming (all scenes filmed with Roche were reshot with Bonner playing the part). Despite the departure of all four of her siblings and her parents, Steph remains a mainstay in the show.
Till Lindemann (b. 4 January, 1963) is a German musician who is most notable as being the lead-vocalist for the German Tanz-Metall ("Dance metal") band Rammstein.

Personal characteristics Interests
Steph was once an apprentice mechanic, working at Lou's Garage with Stuart Parker (Blair McDonough). She rides a motorbike and has extensive knowledge on how to repair it. She is an avid fan of Australian rules football, and supports Richmond Football Club. She has also made a partial tour of the Australian outback.
Lindemann has a powerful onstage presence and a resonant bass voice. One of his signature moves is to partially squat and pound his fist onto his thigh to the beat of the riff, in the manner of a deranged blacksmith. One of the most distinguishing characteristics is a tendency to roll his R's, and growl his achs – signs of his East German accent.

History
Lindemann is a qualified pyrotechnician. After an accident at the Treptow arena in Berlin on September 27, 1996, where a burning stage prop fell into the audience, Rammstein began employing a professional pyrotechnical crew and Lindemann has learned from and also trained with them. Each band member is specially instructed on the pieces of pyrotechnical equipment they use on stage.
Motorbike Accident
Libby Kennedy (Kym Valentine) and Steph were involved in a motorcycle accident that occurred in the middle of the night. An enraged Brendan Bell drove into the motorbike, and the three of them were taken to the hospital. Brendan died shortly afterwards, and Steph came out of it with torn ligaments. Libby's injuries were more severe, and it was said that she may never have children. Steph was the only person that actually blamed herself for what happened to Libby, and became severely depressed. As a result, she was having nightmares about the accident. Shortly afterwards Steph threw out her biking leathers and announced that she was giving up her motorcycle.

Drew Kirk, Round One
According to Lindemann, he likes Chris Isaak, Marilyn Manson, Jean-Michel André Jarre , Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Type O Negative, Placebo, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, KMFDM and jazz music in the park on a Sunday afternoon. He says, "for me Kraftwerk was the first real German band."
At the same time Libby dumped Drew (Dan Paris). Steph asked Libby about her decision, and Libby said it was none of her business. This caused them to both fall out. Steph and Drew grew closer, and she fell deeper in love with him. Because she knew nothing could become of it, she started ignoring him, and he eventually got married to Libby. After Libby had her son, Drew died when riding on a horse. The stress took its toll on Steph badly.

Marc Lambert
At one time, he had his left ear pierced twice, but has not worn earring for a long time. You can see the two holes in his ear in most videos and pictures. He has no known tattoos, but is rumoured to have one on his buttocks that says "Punk Rock".
Marc (David Karakai) was a wealthy man, whose parents took over the Lassiters' Hotel for a while. He was given the job of Assistant Manager. Steph and Marc were far from best of friends when they first met, but they eventually grew on each other and Steph started going out with him, and later got engaged. His mother kept trying to split them up by pretending she didn't like Steph, and Steph confronted her about it. At first Marc's mother, Chloe didn't tell her anything, but she eventually told her that she was trying to save Steph from Marc. Marc's mother explained that he didn't really love her, and he was trying to prove a point to his wealthy parents by wanting to marry her. Steph didn't believe this, and decided to go ahead with the marriage. While this was going on, Marc was getting closer to Steph's sister Flick (Holly Valance), and this is what stopped the wedding, right at the altar. Steph and Marc haven't spoken since, but she had fallen out with Flick for a while but managed to patch things up with her before she left Erinsborough.

Max Hoyland
Lindemann has stated that he is an atheist.
Soon after the Hoyland family became reunited in Erinsborough, Summer (Marisa Siketa) became very close friends with many people, namely Drew, then Stuart after Drew's death. When Summer became less attached to Stuart, she became more fixated on Steph, and pictured her as an ideal stepmother. Because of this she tried her best to get her father and Steph together. Eventually, they got together, but this caused quite a few arguments, especially with Boyd (Kyal Marsh) thinking Steph was trying to replace Claire, Max's first wife who died a couple of years before.

Breast Cancer, Round One
As of October 2004 he has four children: two girls and two boys.
Just as things were starting to become more stable, she found a lump in her breast while tending to a sore area while working as an apprentice mechanic. Over a matter of days the lump was found to be cancerous, and it was removed. She tried her best to hide this from Max, but he eventually found out. This was a distressing time for Steph, especially with the arrival of Izzy (Natalie Bassingthwaighte), Max's sister. She tried to befriend Steph, but was making their friendship seem more unlikely each time she tried. She once offered Steph a wig while her hair began falling out as a side effect of the chemotherapy.

Marriage
Lindemann is also able to play the drums, guitar and bass.
After her first bout of breast cancer, Steph proposed to Max, and in 2004, Stephanie Scully became Stephanie Hoyland when she married Max. She also became a stepmother to Boyd and Summer Hoyland. Steph and Max then tried for a baby of their own.
In the live performances of Rammstein's song 'Los', Till is seen playing a mouthharmonica, but he isn't actually playing it. It's just keyborader Christian 'Flake' Lorenz playing it on his keyboard.

Beginning of Pregnancy
Personal background
In 2005, Steph finally got pregnant after it seemed this wouldn't be possible, and after a failed adoption. While Izzy was in her most recent 'crazy phase', she as well as punched Steph in the stomach, and Steph, as can be expected, was worried that she could have lost the baby. Izzy, realising her error was genuinely sorry and very apologetic.
Lindemann was born in Leipzig, but he grew up in the village of Wendisch-Rambow in Schwerin (East Germany). His father, Werner Lindemann, was a poet, and his mother, Brigitte "Gitta" Lindemann, is an artist and writer who has co-written at least one book with her husband. Lindemann has one sister, six years younger than himself. At age 11 he went to a sports school at the Rostock Sport Club, and from 1977-1980 attended a boarding school. His parents divorced in 1975, when he was age 12.

Breast Cancer and Drew Kirk, Round Two
In the years 1976-1979, Lindemann was a good swimmer who became junior vice-European champion. He finally left sports school in 1979. It is possible that he was thrown out of sports school due to his sneaking out, unaccompanied, of a hotel in Italy on a swimming tour. But he also suffered an injury, a torn abdominal muscle - so either reason could be valid. According to Lindemann, "I never liked the sport school actually, it was very intense. But as a child you don't object."
In the last week of 2005, Steph started having dreams where she and the deceased Drew, the man she has always had a major liking for, were an item. She didn't know what these dreams meant, but after this, she found another lump in her breast and immediately knew the cancer had returned. She refused all treatment because of the baby, and her family were quite worried about her. She had a go at Boyd because he was trying to convince her that treatment would be the better option. She later 'kidnapped' Oscar (Ingo Dammer-Smith), her two-year-old brother, because he was at the time being looked after by Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) and Izzy Hoyland, and Steph felt her mother was being irresponsible by letting them look after Oscar. When she was found by Stuart, she had a fever, and was then sectioned, no thanks to Max and Stuart. It was later discovered that the fever was caused by a virus, and Steph was mentally and physically fit, with the exception of the cancer. On her return, she made it clear she didn't want Max there, even though it's his own house; saying how she could forgive Stuart for what he did, but could never forgive Max. Despite this, after many arguments, Steph and Max got back together, but Steph said she was still going to refuse treatment until 'Charlie' was born.

Charlie Hoyland
His first job was at a peat cutting company, but he was fired after three days. He worked as an apprentice carpenter, a gallery technician, and was most well-known as a basket weaver.
Steph's baby was carried to term, and she gave birth naturally to Charlie Hoyland (Aaron Aulsebrook-Walker) on Monday, March 20, 2006. Almost immediately after Charlie's birth, Steph started treatment for the breast cancer, and was told that she was rid of the cancer soon afterwards. Her mother Lyn (Janet Andrewartha) later found a gas leak in the Robinson house with Charlie and Izzy in it, but both were fine afterwards.

Charlie's Christening
In 1981, Lindemann apparently refused to do his 18 months' compulsory military service and was almost imprisoned because of the refusal.
Lyn wanted Charlie to be baptised, but Steph didn't. This was the cause of quite a few arguments and even led Steph to disown Lyn for a period because Lyn decided to have him baptised behind Max and Steph's backs. She later earned their trust when Lyn saved Charlie from Robert Robinson who tried to gas Izzy and Charlie inside No.22.

Baby Belt
In 1985, when Lindemann was 22, his first daughter, Nele, was born. Lindemann and Nele's mother married after she was born, but they separated and he has raised Nele alone. Lindemann says, "I used to play drums in a punk band and we had our studio in the house where I lived. Seven years I had been a father raising his daughter, but nowadays I'm sharing the upbringing with her mother, because I'm gone for six months of the year with the band."
In early 2006, Lyn presented Steph with a contract that she was rushed into signing, having not read it first. The contract gave Paul rights to Steph's Baby Belt idea, and Steph would get 5% of the profits. Lyn managed to convince Paul to give her 7%. Steph now invents other things, after her baby belt proved to be quite successful. However, another company accused them of contravening the patent they had taken out on their product 'tools for mum'. This led to Lyn having to sell the house and Paul having to sell 9% of Lassiters. The product is now null and void.

Max's disappearance, divorce and departure
In 1988, Lindemann was to be a swimmer in the Olympics, but suffered a torn abdominal muscle, so was unable to participate.
In 2006, Max mistakenly ran over Cameron Robinson (Adam Hunter) thinking he was his evil twin brother Robert (Adam Hunter). Subsequently Cameron died from his injuries and his sister Elle (Pippa Black) decided to take revenge on Max. She orchestrated several events which made Max doubt his sanity to the point he checked himself into the local psychiatric ward. When Elle realised what she'd done she tried to confess to Max but he was too far gone and decided the only way to make things better was to disappear. This left wife Steph devastated, when local Salvation Army representative Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) revealed Max had been in touch only to say that Max wanted Steph get on with her life - this pushed her into the arms of her close friend Toadie (Ryan Moloney).

In 2007, Max returned to Erinsborough after being caught by Elle Robinson and Boyd's wife Janae (Eliza Taylor-Cotter). Things went tough for Steph and Max, but they both tried their best, including Max taking Steph on a hot air balloon ride. When it all seemed to go well, Max decided that things couldn't change back, and Max decided to take a job at an oil rig, and said goodbye to his family.
The Berlin Wall came down November 9 1989, and Germany started its path to reunification. On this, Lindemann says, "After the wall had been opened, I drove to West Germany and bought gummy bears and yogurt for my salutation money. But there wasn't anything else."

Lyn's marriage and departure
His father died in November of 1992, of the effects of alcohol. He was buried in the grounds of a church near Wendisch-Rambow.

After Max's departure, Steph's mum Lyn and her partner Paul Robinson decided to get married. This was short lived as Paul dumped Lyn for Rosetta Cammeniti. Lyn then annulled the marriage, left Ramsay Street and went on her honeymoon. When Steph found out about what Paul had done, she punched him. She now visits Lyn, Valda and Oscar in Shelley Bay, which is where Lyn lives after the marriage break-up.
Lindemann had a second daughter with Anja Köseling, his former partner/wife. Köseling claimed Lindemann abused her physically during their relationship and that he refused to pay child support for their daughter, Marie-Louise (b. ca. 1993). Lindemann has never commented on her claim.
In an interview with Richard Kruspe, He stated that Rammstein will keep playing until one of them dies.
Paul stated in a 2005 interview that Till has a girlfriend who speaks Spanish and helped him write "Te quiero puta!" (I want you, whore!).

Toadfish Rebecchi
And in a 2005 interview with the German playboy, Lindemann stated that he had finally found "a woman he could spend the rest of his life with."
Part of the reason for Steph and Max's break-up was Steph's growing attraction to Toadie (who ironically had been attracted to Steph when she first moved to Erinsborough). When Max left town, Steph was shattered when she discovered that Toadie was dating another woman, Abby Stafford (Louise Crawford). In late February 2007, Steph saw Abby flirting with another man in the Scarlet Bar and confronted her, asking if she was cheating on Toadie. Abby told Steph to stay out of it. Steph informed Toadie of what she had seen and Toadie accused her of merely being jealous.

Later in the 1990s, Lindemann began to write lyrics, possibly based on phrases and words from poems that he was beginning to write. He says he "used to drum in a punk band that consisted of bass and drums. We used to work with guest-guitarists, usually Paul and Richard. We did a short tour where I changed instruments with the bassist in the encore, that was such a success, that Richard insisted on starting a project in which I would sing. Other people joined the band but only when I left Schwerin for Berlin did it take serious form."

In 1994, they entered and won a contest in Berlin that allowed them to record a four track demo professionally. Lindemann moved to Berlin. Paul H. Landers formally joined the band, followed by the last member to join, Christian "Flake" Lorenz.

On June 5, 1999 in Worcester, Massachusetts (USA) Lindemann and Flake Lorenz were arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior. A statement from Sgt. Thomas Radula of the Worcester Police Department stated that Lindemann was simulating sex with Flake onstage "using a phallic object that shot custard over the crowd." They were held and released the following day on $25 bail. After months of legal debate, they were eventually fined $100.

Subsequently, in November 2002 Lindemann's own project, the poetry book Messer, was published. It consists of 54 poems compiled by Gert Hof, who is author of the book Rammstein and has been the band's pyrodesigner for the last seven years . This book was due to be re-printed in 2005 due to a campaign by a fansite.

Quotes
* Loneliness sometimes gives me a quantity of creativeness - you're drinking another glass of wine and you're feeling even worse. Art doesn't work without pain; art also exists for compensating pain.
* When I was an adolescent, I was obsessed with having many commercial things, cars, clothes, stupid things. Now that I have all that, I include/understand that the superfluous things can turn to you into a very stupid idiot-type. In East Germany there were very few things, but there was also a feeling of solidarity that no longer exists. Now we are up to the neck in consumption, the ego, the individualism. Now before friendship, it is merchandise.
* The rolling R's didn't arise deliberately. It originated from itself because in that deep pitch you automatically sing that way. I'm no musician in the actual meaning. I don't know anything about instruments. But I'm supporting our music with my voice and lyrics well. It's a question of illustration, timbre and phonetics. We don't want to - for Heaven's sake - create a t-like style.
* Love is like a flower, even the most beautiful kind dies.
* Love is Chris Isaak and milk.
