New Work Daily News
There is an article (I don't know in which issue it was published) published at the beginning of July of 1942. You can read there something like this: "Do the British want to invade Europe, please, you may go, but first of all without Americans." I learned about the American article when I was reading the Croatian daily newspaper Hrvatski list (lit. Croatian newspaper). Hrvatski list, Saturday, July 11 1942, issue 161 (7608), page 6: "Hoće li Englezi invaziju u Evropu – molimo: izvolite, ali prije svega bez Američana".--TheDiaboloBoy (talk) 11:26, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
:It could be this article, but what it says is slightly different: Britain should go with whatever number of Americans already stationed in there, rather than waiting for more reinforcements from the US. AstonishingTunesAdmirer 連絡 12:32, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

I need a hand with this too. There is an article titled "Bolsheviks in the Balkans". It is, as far as I know, the first article you will see in this issue.--TheDiaboloBoy (talk) 15:39, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

Times (July 30, 1924) and Daily Herald (August, 1, 1924)
Now I see that the article "Bolsheviks in the Balkans" was published in The Times. One should look for it there.
And the Daily Herald published an answer to the Times' article in its issue of August 1, 1924.
Please, help me this one. This is getting exciting!--TheDiaboloBoy (talk) 17:02, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

:@TheDiaboloBoy: The Times article was published on July 29, not 30, and was titled "The Bolshevists in the Balkans". Please send me an email for it. I can't find any mention of the Bolsheviks in the August 1 edition of Daily Herald. Are you sure the Daily Herald article you requested above isn't the response you are mentioning here? :::Maybe the Daily Herald's article was published on July 31, because Politika (a newspaper based in Belgrade) published in its issue of August 2 a report from August 1 saying that the Daily Herald published a response to the Times' article from the day before yesterday.--TheDiaboloBoy (talk) 19:12, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
::::@TheDiaboloBoy: I'm not seeing any mention of Bolsheviks in the July 31 edition either. If the Politika report is from August 1, the day before yesterday would be July 30. The article linked previously by Timur9008 quotes The Times as saying "a real danger", which matches the final sentence of the scan I sent you. However, I noticed that clip wasn't actually the full article, so please see this clipping instead: https://www.newspapers.com/article/daily-herald/161660732/ ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 19:31, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

Harijs Ebersteins
I'm trying to create an entry for Latvian painter Harijs Ēberšteins, but I don't have access to his entry over at the Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon. The entire thing is online at Ēberšteins, Harijs, but it is paywalled behind the De Gruyter site. I couldn't find anything in the current Latvian National Encyclopedia, but there's apparently an entry in something called the "Latvijas Enciklopēdija", and you can see info pertaining to it here, but I can't figure out how to access it or if it points to an altogether different volume. Pinging Yakikaki in the event that they can help in some way. For what it's worth, Ēberšteins comes from a large family of artists, designers, and architects, some of which emigrated to the US. Ēberšteins himself was born in Riga but lived and died in Venezuela (Caracas, I think), so there's apparently lots of sources in that country, but they are hard to find.
