First released in 2005, itPyS60 featured a relatively small set of modules and functions. Version 1.2, the last nonclosed-opensourcesource release and the second version of PyS60, brought many improvements and was made available on 21 October 2005 on Forumthe Nokia Forums.

After becoming [[open -source]], PyS60 had the advantage of a strong and dedicated community that could actively contributecontributed to improving it. The milestone release was Versionversion 1.3.11.
