I have personal experience running WRF to a 500m grid... so, I'll go ahead and change that lower bound.--Squeakywaffle (talk) 02:53, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

after some more thought, I'm not going to change it, but I would propose this change:

The WRF is a mesoscale model that uses a grid spacing on the order of about 1-10 kilometers, with vertical grid spacing between 25 and 37 divisions. WRF is very computationally intensive, however, and running on small grid spacings can quickly become very expensive.--Squeakywaffle (talk) 02:57, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

The example listed - Advanced Research WRF (ARW) - is not technically a recursive acronym since "ARW" isn't one of the words in the acronym.. just thought I should point that out.

What type of software license was this program released under? I don't see details about this in the article yet. Jarble (talk) 02:18, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
