The program opened its doors to students in the fall of [[1999]] in a former [[Coca-Cola]] bottling plant which it shares to this day with other private businesses. The initial teaching staff included five teachers but district wide budget cuts caused staff reshuffling that left the program with four full time teachers for the 2004-05 school year.
