:According to the CIA World Factbook's map of the Indian Ocean, the Java Sea is part of the Indian Ocean and not the Pacific Ocean. This differs from the International Hydrographic Organization's definition of the Indian Ocean -- a comment for the map shown on the Indian Ocean wiki page, which is the map from the World Factbook, lists this as a factual inaccuracy. The map is from 2002, but I checked the 2024 CIA World Factbook map and it still includes the Java Sea as part of the Indian Ocean. Unless this is an error that's persisted for decades, I think this is grounds for at least noting that the classification of the Java Sea is in dispute. ::The World Factbook lists the Java Sea as part of the Pacific Ocean, so the illustration in the map is clearly an error. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:38, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
