Our areas of research include artificial intelligence, human cognition, brain-inspired computing, robotic autonomy, collaboration technologies, advanced software development tools, distributed systems, and real-time systems. We develop advanced models for many phenomena, including quantum effects, nano-electrical and mechanical structures, network performance, radio-frequency propagation, and social systems. And we either manage or play keys roles in the Corporation’s thrusts in nanotechnology, autonomy, and software technology.

Cool computing wasn’t always our forte, however. We started in an old Army surplus tent in 1929 in upstate New York before settling in Camden, NJ. It was there that we invented disruptive technologies like sound on film in the ‘40s—for which we won a technical Academy Award, video technology that enabled color television in the ‘50s, and communications for the Apollo spacecraft in the ‘60s and ‘70s. Did you know that we also developed some of the earliest research on barcode technology?

We support all of Lockheed Martin as well as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, military services laboratories. You can find our work in programs like the Aegis Open Architecture, Next-Generation Destroyer, and Joint Strike Fighter, to name just a very few.

Our main office is in Cherry Hill, N.J. with satellite offices in Arlington, Va., Eagan, Minn., Kennesaw (Atlanta area), Ga., and Westlake Village, Calif.
