The committees were made up of a minimum of three appointed LITA members, with the opportunity for interns to be appointed for one-year terms. There was also one board member who serves as a liaison to a committee so as to guarantee open communication between a respective committee and the Board of Directors.<ref>American Library Association, [http://www.ala.org/lita/about/committees], "Committees", 2014</ref>
