We need a paper on Charles Forgy
We need a paper on Charles Forgy and also we should probably mention the (commercially available) Rete II algorithm. I wish my explanation of Rete were better, maybe someone else wants to take a stab at it. Chadloder 18:12 Jan 22, 2003 (UTC)
Who is Charles Forgy? Seems suspiciously self promotional <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.109.52.243 (talk) 22:30, 8 April 2013 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

An example or set of examples would make all of this clearer (a collection of rules describing some real-world situation, a collection of facts, and a description of how the facts would be processed by the Rete). Unfortunately, I don't understand this topic well enough to author such an example myself. StevenHB 17:53, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
:Apart from examples, a more formal description of the algorithm would be of great utility. I.e. pseudo-code, or even some real code, not necessary optimized or complete. It is near impossible to understand how the algorithm works from its current description. (I tried reading articles linked here, but they are not much help either, unfortunately) 79.179.183.20 (talk) 17:02, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
::I was trying to read it and it seems to never explain what the algorithm is, but rather describes characteristics of it, with occasional details, without explaining how they fit together. I read "but a common academic pronunciation is /ˈreɪtiː/ RAY-tee, which is closer to modern Italian pronunciation"... but the modern italian pronounciation is NOT "ray-tee" AT ALL!
Don't know how to write the phonetics, however... <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">—Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.40.76.70 (talk) 17:25, 20 January 2010 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
Rete-OO
I am not very active in this Wikipedia, however I improved Rete-OO section. Despite of this, I think Rete-OO is a case of WP:ORIGINAL (very small research around a bigger subject). I really do not care to keep it since it is just a paragraph (and for me, it is interesting to describe what's being done around a subject), but more advanced users may want to evaluate if that's ok to keep or not. --Diego Queiroz (talk) 16:07, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
What does "Rete" stand for/come from?
The derivation of the name "Rete" is never explained. I presume it's "rules engine" something something? Jpatokal (talk) 03:12, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
