Computer systems allow the input of specific unicode characters in different ways, on [[Unicode input#In_Microsoft_Windows|Windows]] unicode characters can be typed utilizing <kbd>Alt</kbd> + Numpad combinations where <kbd>Alt</kbd> has to remain pressed until the unicode number is entered. [[Unicode input#In_MacOS|MacOS]] may use the <kbd>Option</kbd> key followed by four diget number instead. [[Unicode input#In_X11_(Linux_and_other_Unix_variants_including_ChromeOS)|Linux and other Unix variants]] may use the key combination <kbd>Strg</kbd>+<kbd>Shift</kbd> to remain pressed for typing unicode characters.
