JDK Mission Control started out as JRockit Mission Control JRockit Mission Control, a production time profiling and diagnostics tools suite which was delivered as a part of the JRockit JVM distribution.<ref>{{cite web |title=JRockit Mission Control |url=https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/jrockit/mission-control/index.html |publisher=Oracle |accessdate=21 January 2019}}</ref> After Oracle acquired [[Sun Microsystems]], JRockit Flight Recorder and JRockit Mission Control were rebranded Java Flight Recorder and Java Mission Control.<ref>{{cite web |title=Java Mission Control |url=https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javaseproducts/mission-control/index.html |accessdate=21 January 2019}}</ref>.
