Naming
Bomb The Music Industry! is a musical collective from Baldwin, Nassau County, New York. They write, produce, record (sometimes only through the microphone on an iMac), and distribute all of their music under the leadership of lead songwriter and producer Jeff Rosenstock. Rosenstock and several other contributors are members of The Arrogant Sons Of Bitches. They have recently earned regard for their DIY punk ethic, embodied by such actions such as distributing three albums' worth of material for free on their site, and offering free stencils and paint for fans to create their own t-shirts. They also offer their fans a chance to perform on stage if they learn a song and bring their instrument to the show.
I've changed the redirects again for now, since the page was moved again, (meaning, if you are going to move the page, please change all the redirects, like Ganryuu did) but I'm not so sure about this claim that the movie was released in the USA as Toward the Terra, because IMDb lists it at Terra e... (with Toward the Terra as an alternative title - I suppose that indicates the official English release title?)

More to the point, I suppose it's the manga's title that is important in this case. --Darkbane 12:06, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

:I own the North American release of Toward the Terra. On laserdisc. I can scan the cover for you, if you like. Snarfies 23:43, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Bomb the Music Industry! plays a blend of several musical styles anchored onto ska and punk. They're often compared to bands from previous waves of ska such as the Blue Meanies, Fishbone or Big D and the Kids Table that blended a range of influences and experimental effects onto the ska framework common in each band's respective eras. Bomb the Music Industry! also share similarities with popular ska/punk and punk acts such as Catch-22 and Slapstick.
::That would be great; we could use that as a fair use identification image. Could you possibly provide any details about the American release? I've added some for the English manga release but I can't find any for the movie. We could use the publisher/distributor, the release date, the English voice cast, any theatrical release data if available, any mention of runtime differences due to censorship, roughly in that descending order of importance.
:::Okay. I'll do it sometime this coming week. It was release by TRSI. I'll have to pull the disk out for the rest of the info. Snarfies 17:39, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

::As for the title, I am fine either way anyway. I originally created this article as Toward the Terra, and I think both titles are acceptable. Even To Terra... is acceptable as that is the official English translation of the manga, as published by Vertical Inc.
The influences go deeper than ska and punk, however, as studio experimentation, synth-pop, and DC hardcore pop up in the mix. Rosenstock claims that bands such as Harvey Danger and Neutral Milk Hotel are as much influences as standard ska/punk affairs, as evidenced by tracks such as “This Graceless Planet” (an adaptation of a song by the band We Versus the Shark to the musical aesthetic of Bomb the Music Industry!) or “Stand There Until You're Sober” (which feature, respectively, jarring synth breakouts and backwards looping). In live performances the band has begun using digital technology to create breakdowns that sound like they are lifted from 8-bit videogames. Tracks such as “Sweet Home Cannada” and “Future 86” strip down the arrangements to barebones loops and guitar, with the latter featuring a full brass section but lacking the upstroke rythms on the guitar, a key element of 3rd-wave Ska.

:::Ugh, I wasn't aware the translated manga was out, and under a different name. To Terra..." would also be fine, but either way the Japanese title ought not be used in the English Wikipedia if there's an official release. Snarfies 17:39, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

::Perhaps we can go with the earliest English official translation? Which I then gather would be the English language movie release... According to ANN it was released in 1994 on VHS and 1995 on LD, if the name was “Toward the Earth” or “To the Earth...” I cannot discern from ANN. But according to http://www.amazon.com/dp/6303239153 (1994 VHS) and http://www.caldc.com/files/entries/lvd9502.html (1995 laserdisc) it’s “Toward the Terra”.
Touring
::Kess 18:44, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

:::I think we can stick with Toward the Terra, per Kess' and Snarfies' arguments. I've added the official names of the releases to the infobox, so that should become clearer. I left Terra e... for the TV series though, until it gets licensed.
Bomb the Music Industry! has toured with Rosenstock and Rick Johnson of Rick Johnson Rock And Roll Machine. Both do the vocals while Rosenstock plays guitar and Johnson plays bass. Both play a variety of instruments as well, such as the theremin, the tub drum, and the saxophone. Additionally, Rosenstock has been known to play keyboard with his feet.

:::Looking over those links more closely, I get the impression that the 1994 release was only subtitled, while the 1995 release was, apart from being cropped to 4:3 format, dubbed in English. Snarfies, can you confirm these with regard to your copy?
Bomb the Music Industry! has also toured with Rosenstock and Matt Kurz of The Matt Kurz One. During this tourh Rosenstock fronted the band, played guitar and the sax. Kurz sang backup and played bass. The rest of the instruments and synth were played through an iPod.

:::On another note, I am really glad that a number of competent people are working on this article. :-) --Darkbane 18:46, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
From 30th November to 16th December 2006, Bomb the Music Industry! will be touring the United Kingdom for the first time as part of the Ska Is Dead UK tour. They will be supporting Planet Smashers and Mustard Plug.

LD has been scanned, you can find the results at http://www.otakubell.com/LDs/, under the "Domestic" section. You can feel free to use any image in the entire directory. The images in that directory are at half the size I scanned them at, so if you want an even larger image, let me know. In addition, if you want scans of any other disks, feel free to email a request (see my userpage). Since I have around 1,200 anime disks, it would be easier to just ask if I have something or not. The LD is hard-subbed - no dub track. Snarfies 02:26, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
:Thanks a bunch. I'll work on resizing an uploading it for use here. --Darkbane 02:39, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Found 〈ANIMEX 1200シリーズ〉(5) 交響組曲 地球(テラ)へ・・・ on Amazon Japan, seems to be an orchestral perfomance by Santora(sp?) and Da Capo, released in 2003. It should probably be added into the Media section if someone can figure out the exact title and artist names. Symphonic Suite "To Terra..."? --<font face="Copperplate Gothic Bold" size="2" color="000000">Darkbane</font> <font face="Copperplate Gothic Bold" color="000000">talk</font> 18:37, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

:(In a way I wonder how much information this article needs... Don't get me wrong, I love information and all that, but I've noticed a trend here on Wikipedia lately that peripheral and “clogged”/“condensed” information are removed. I think a good thing to do would be to write more running text, as to ease the reading for someone just interested in the series in general and not explicit data information. I don't know enough to do that myself though, as well that my English tends to confuse what I'm trying to tell.)

::Heh. Well about that, I was thinking of moving some of the text from the introduction down into the media section. The introduction right now is populated with information very densely, and most of that information should really be further down. It should be enough to just state the key points in the intro.

::Curiously enough, the problem I notice more often with many anime (and fantasy novels, too, among other things) articles is just the opposite - too detailed plot information, with literally paragraph upon paragraph of brain dumps, with little connecting syntax and little formatting.

::About your link (which is very cool btw ^_^) - from your explanation and the text itself, I take it this is the original soundtrack to the movie. So the CD I found is the same thing, part of this ANIMEX 1200 Series?

::On another note, the manga's first volume (in japan) has recently reached sales rank 40 on amazon.co.jp - quite a feat, though I'm not sure if we can somehow mention this with a dated reference in the media section.
