"Stranger" is a song written by Hilary Duff, Kara DioGuardi, Vada Nobles, Derrick Haruin and Julius Diaz, and recorded for Duff's third studio album, Dignity (2007). It is the third single from the album, and HMV Japan reported a release date of June 4 2007 (see 2007 in music) for the CD single, but the date was changed to July 9, 2007. Duff's official UK site reported that "Stranger" would be the second single from Dignity to be released there.
The game was created by Patrick Treloar and contains a section designed by Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz and Tank Girl fame. It went on to sell over 20,000 copies until it was withdrawn from the shelves by WH Smith when the store was made aware of it's overtly adult content.

The idea of the game was to drive around looking for fliers and energi(sic) tablets. Once the player had accumulated enough energi tablets, they could then proceed to their rave and dance, until they collected all three sections of the WOW Tryptich.
The song was rumored to be about Duff and her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Joel Madden;<ref>Bercovici, Jeff. Duff, it seems, did not, and hell hath no fury like a young woman scorned."<ref>Bernstein, Jonathan. "Dignity (2007) - Hilary Duff". According to Duff, the song is actually about how she thought her mother feels around her father, who had an extramarital affair with another woman. Duff said she wrote "Stranger" to appear to be about one of her own relationships, because she didn't want people to know about the strained relationship between her parents. "But I've realized that so many people can relate to what I've gone through", she said. Another song on the album, "Gypsy Woman", was inspired by the same situation.<ref name=USAToday-focus>Gardner, Elysa. The video shows Duff's character running out to her partner, but he is driving off. There are then shots of them at a dinner event where her partner repeatedly is talking to and flirting with other women. In between shots, there are scenes of Duff and backing dancers dancing in a nightclub and dressed in Indian style outfits. The video ends with Duff walking out of the couple's home with her packed suitcases.
