Okay, so - there are two episode list articles for this series, [[Episodes of The O.C.]] and [[O.C. Episodes]]. This article has more information, so any extra stuff in the other one needs to be copied across, and then "O.C. Episodes" needs to be deleted. I have no knowledge of this programme so i cant really do it myself. I realise people are spending a lot of time on this page; it's good work. I don't want to interupt and mess up your work. However, is there any way someone could put per-series episode numbers in here? It would probably be more useful than the overall episode number in most cases. '''Coelacanths''' (pronounced see-le-canth), meaning "hollow spine" in Greek, are lobe finned fish with the [[Pectoral fin|pectoral]] and [[anal fin]]s on fleshy stalks, and the tail fin divided into three lobes, the middle one of which also has a stalk. The coelacanth has modified cosmoid [[Scale (zoology)|scale]]s, that are thinner than true cosmoid scales, that can only be found on extinct fish.

About 125 species are known from [[fossil]]s; they were considered to be [[index fossil]]s (i.e. they indicated the age of the rock), extinct since the end of the [[Cretaceous]], until a live one turned up off the east coast of [[South Africa]] in [[1938]]. Coelacanths can be found in the [[Comoros]], [[Sulawesi]] ([[Indonesia]]) and St. Lucia Marine Protected Area (South Africa). These are the oldest living fish that are known to date. They are believed to be the ancestors of many modern day amphibians due to the lobed fins and ___location of the fish.

The gombessa (''Latimeria chalumnae'') was found by [[Marjorie Courtenay-Latimer]] in [[1938]]. A fishing boat caught sharks near the [[Chalumna River]], and Latimer, who was curator of a museum in [[East London]] and often looked for odd fish in the harbor, saw a blue fin under them. She pulled the fish out of the pile and brought it to the museum to find out what kind of fish it was. Professor [[James Leonard Brierley Smith]], the scientist she consulted, was surprised to see the fish because it looked like the coelacanths which were known only from fossils.

A worldwide search was launched for more coelacanths, with a reward of 100 British pounds. Fourteen years later, they were found in the [[Comoros]]. The Comorans, in port of Mutsamudu on the Comorian island of Anjouan, were puzzled that someone would pay big money for what the locals called a "mame" or "Gombessa", an inferior fish that their fishermen occasionally caught by mistake.

::I still don't think season 4 episodes should be added yet. [[User:Iorek85|Iorek85]] made a good point on the talk page of the main [[Talk:The_O.C.#.22Spoilers.22_for_season_4|O.C.]] article by stating that the source of the season 4 spoilers isn't even appropriate for Wikipedia and that verifiable facts and viewpoints should be presented, not unconfirmed rumours, and especially not as fact. Furthermore, stressing the fact that [[WP:Not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_crystal_ball|Wikipedia is not a crystal ball]]. They now understand the significance of their endangered species and have a program in place to return any accidentally caught gombessa to deep water so that it can survive.

The titles for the eps are fine, they seemed to be accurate enough last season, but the details are just rumour, unless, as the template says, they came from interviews or preview clips. I have spent the past few hours converting the article to {{tl|Episode list}}. If possible could someone please find a 720x480 pixel image for each of the screenshots, as that would suit the new layout very well. Also could all the episode summaries be shrunk down to 3 lines. ==Episode Title Errors==

In South Africa, the search continued on and off over the years. One diver, 46-year-old, Riaan Bouwer, lost his life exploring for coelacanths in June 1998.

On [[October 28th]], [[2000]], just south of the [[Mozambique]] border, in Sodwana Bay in the St. Lucia Marine Protected Area, three pleasure divers - Pieter Venter, Peter Timm and Etienne le Roux - made a dive to 104 metres and suddenly spotted a coelacanth. Without cameras, the group decided to return.

A lot of the episode titles aren't what they should be. It seems like whoever named them tried to sum up the plot of the episode, and they didn't use the actual episode title given by Fox or whoever names these episodes.

Calling themselves '''SA Coelacanth Expedition 2000''' the group, with several additional members, returned and on [[November 26]], they performed a first dive without seeing coelacanths. The next day Pieter Venter, Gilbert Gunn, Christo Serfontein and Dennis Harding, went down again. Moving from cavern to cavern, they found three coelacanths. The largest was between 1.5 and 1.8 metres long, the other two 1.2 metres and 1 metre. The fish swam heads down and appeared to be feeding off of ledges. The cameramen took video footage and photos. Then disaster struck. Assisting Christo, who suddenly passed out under water, 34-year-old Dennis Harding rose to the surface with him in an uncontrolled ascent. Harding complained of neck pains and died in the boat. Apparently, he had suffered a cerebral [[embolism]]. Christo recovered after being taken underwater for [[decompression sickness|recompression]].

However, the find was big news in South Africa. In March-April 2002, the Jago Submersible and Fricke Dive Team descended into the depths off Sodwana and observed 15 coelacanths, one pregnant. Tissue samples were taken using a dart probe.

[[User:Adelyna|Adelyna]] and I have been in a minor dispute lately about the name of episode 2.13 which I believe is called "The Test", and Adelyna believes it's called "The Father Knows Best". [http://www.fox.com/oc/recaps/213.htm According to the official website] it's called "The Test", so I'm almost certain I'm right, but Adelyna claims that the DVD of the second season lists it as "The Father Knows Best", but I can't verify this since I don't have the DVD myself. For now I've reverted all of Adelyna's actions, and will continue to do so under the assumption that it's called "The Test" (which would make more sense considering the plot of that episode).
