merge with The O.C. episode plotlines
current
Okay, so - there are two episode list articles for this series, Episodes of The O.C. and O.C. Episodes. This article has more information, so any extra stuff in the other one needs to be copied across, and then "O.C. Episodes" needs to be deleted. I have no knowledge of this programme so i cant really do it myself. I think this one then needs to be renamed to "List of The O.C. episodes" as its a more conventional name for episode lists (which i cant do because theres already a redirect page there). -- <span style="border:1px solid #ccc;background:#eee; padding:1px"><span style="color:#333;font-weight:bold">jeffthejiff</span></span> <span style="font-size:80%;color:#999">(<span style="color:#999;">talk</span>)</span> 15:04, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

I realise people are spending a lot of time on this page; it's good work. I don't want to interupt and mess up your work. However, is there any way someone could put per-series episode numbers in here? It would probably be more useful than the overall episode number in most cases. For example; "s03e17" as well as "68".--CalPaterson 21:40, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

The humanitarian response to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake was prompted by one of the major natural disasters of modern times. On December 26 the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, struck off the northwest coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, spawned tsunamis and wreaked havoc along much of the rim of the Indian Ocean. Particularly hard-hit were the countries of India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Many tens of thousands of people were killed, tens of thousands more were injured and over one million were made homeless.
I agree with Cal on the S(season)E(episode #) idea. I also think that we should create a suitable template and start making episode articles.--Rikkyc 03:21, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
The first tasks of the governments and humanitarian aid agencies were to bury the massive numbers of dead and prevent an epidemic of communicable diseases. The World Health Organization warned that the number of deaths from preventable diseases such as cholera, diphtheria, dysentery and typhoid could rival the death toll from the disaster itself. These diseases are largely spread by the bodily wastes of the living after the loss of normal sanitary facilities, the shared use of inadequate ones in makeshift refuges, and the lack of clean water. Many usual sources of water were spoiled by salt water, broken by the force of the tsunami, or contaminated with bodies of dead people or livestock, requiring water purification equipment or trucking portable water into the affected region. Other high priorities were delivery of medical supplies and personnel to overwhelmed hospitals and clinics, tent shelters and clothing to people who have lost their houses and belongings, and food, especially baby food. Several governments have appealed for body bags to assist in the safe disposal of corpses.
I have added the merge tag to The O.C. episode plotlines and after a few days, if I have no arguments, I will just use the content from this article and redirect that one to this. Masterpjz9 00:59, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

There have, as yet, been no confirmed deaths attributable to disease, starvation, loss of livelihoods and income or other conditions created by the natural disaster. The tsunamis exacted a heavy toll on coastal communities and especially fisherfolk in the region. In India and Thailand, government and Civil Society Organisations have been able to mobilise resources and are responding as quickly as possible. India is also providing assistance to neighboring countries. The people and governments in the nations of Sri Lanka and Indonesia are doing all they can but have been overwhelmed by the enormity of the catastrophe, especially in inaccessible areas.

Season 4
Governments, humanitarian organisations, Asian expatriates and individuals around the world have scrambled to offer aid and technical support. Individuals include Li Ka Shing, a Hong Kong tycoon and the richest man in East Asia, who pledged three million US dollars towards aid for victims and rebuilding because he was "saddened by the huge suffering caused by the disaster" (). The World Bank estimates the amount of aid needed at USD 5 billion . Although countries are providing relief funds, the UN has criticized both the US and Europe for allocating inadequate resources. As of 1 January 2005 over USD1.8bn (GBP1bn) had been pledged.
Should season 4 episodes start being included in the list? Seeing as they haven't aired and rumours still surround the plot, possibly making the episode summaries lack factual accuracy -- Ryan2807 18:02 14 August 2006 (UTC)
:The current text doesnt really spoil anything and is sourced from a reliable source. It also does not reveal much. Iorek85 made a good point on the talk page of the main O.C. article by stating that the source of the season 4 spoilers isn't even appropriate for Wikipedia and that verifiable facts and viewpoints should be presented, not unconfirmed rumours, and especially not as fact. Furthermore, stressing the fact that Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. On December 27, UN Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Jan Egeland reportedly categorized the response of rich countries to the disaster as "stingy" , but later claimed to have been "misinterpreted" . Speaking at a press conference later, Mr. Egeland stated, "I've been misinterpreted when I yesterday said that I believed that rich countries in general can be more generous". He also stated "It has nothing to do with any particular country or the response to this emergency. We are in early days and the response has so far been overwhelmingly positive" (). Australia, India, Japan and the United States have announced that they will co-ordinate aid efforts in an attempt to streamline assistance.
Everyone of the episode pages needs work. There are no cites, extended plots, and information that is best left out all together. The US government, led by President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Colin Powell, reacted with annoyance to the statement and on December 28 added another $20 million to their original aid amount bringing the total up to USD35 million, not including direct aid to be rendered by naval vessels dispatched to the region (). On December 31 the US aid was increased ten fold to USD350 million (), with President Bush saying that that amount will probably increase. President Bush also signed a decree ordering flags to be flown at half-mast during the first week of the new year.

We need to convert all episode images to wide-screen. * Government — After committing an initial AUD 10 million (USD 7.7 million) to the relief effort, that was distributed to international aid organisations, the Australian Government announced on December 29th and 31st, 2004 that two additional disbursements of AUD 25 million (USD 18.1 million) each would be committed ; AUD 10 million to aid organisations, AUD 10 million to Indonesia, and AUD 5 million (USD 3.6 million) to Sri Lanka. Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer has indicated Australia will offer further aid as needed. In addition, the Governments of the ACT, New South Wales, the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia have all pledged monetary assistance to a combined total of AUD 17.45 million (USD 13.6 million).
* Military — As part of Australia's aid-assistance, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is working extensively in the region, along side American Forces. Eight Royal Australian Air Force C-130 Hercules are currently assisting in the massive clean-up in Indonesia. Four Hercules are moving stores within Indonesia, while another four planes are establishing an air bridge to move material and personnel from Australia. At the outbreak of the disaster, three were immediately dispatched, laden with essentials such as medical supplies, water purification units, blankets and bottled water. Also, a Royal Australian Navy amphibious transport ship HMAS Kanimbla was dispatched from Sydney on New Year's Eve, to arrive in Indonesia on January 13, whilst four Australian Army Iroquois helicopters are working in Aceh, where the ADF has established a field hospital and water plant. The Australian Federal Police (AFP) also has teams on the ground, particularly in Thailand, including body identification teams. Teams of medical and emergency professionals are being continuingly sent with the call going out for volunteers ready and willing to fly to the affected areas to further assist with the relief and rebuilding operation. Crates of desperately needed body bags for the victims occupied an entire plane chartered as part of Australia's assistance.

* Public/Corporate — Australia's three major commercial television networks, Seven, Nine and Ten took the unprecedented step of pooling resources to organise a special concert telethon, to air on 8 January. Simultaneously broadcast on all three networks and in most capitals on the Triple M radio network, the telethon will be an extraordinary display of solidarity and co-operation in the usually fiercely competitive market. Overall corporate response has been criticised as inadequate, particularly considering bumper profits. The Australian public has raised over AUD 83 million (USD 64.6 million) so far. As a sign of respect to the victims of the disaster, New Years Eve celebrations around the country were either toned-down or cancelled. Most of those celebrations that did proceed organised collections for charities in an attempt to avoid criticism. Australia's largest New Year's celebration in Sydney alone raised over AUD 1.1 million for Oxfam-Community Aid Abroad.
Adelyna and I have been in a minor dispute lately about the name of episode 2.13 which I believe is called "The Test", and Adelyna believes it's called "The Father Knows Best". According to the official website it's called "The Test", so I'm almost certain I'm right, but Adelyna claims that the DVD of the second season lists it as "The Father Knows Best", but I can't verify this since I don't have the DVD myself. For now I've reverted all of Adelyna's actions, and will continue to do so under the assumption that it's called "The Test" (which would make more sense considering the plot of that episode). Hong Kong Jockey Club has donated HKD 10 m, and will donate HKD 1 for each dollar it received from donors (target at a minimum HKD 10 m). KCR donated all the fares collected in the four-hour extention of train services on January 1, 2005.
I plan on redirecting these per WP:EPISODE soon. Information from multiple secondary sources must be present for a single episode to need an article. This includes reception and development. Single plot summaries and trivia don't make a substantial article. I suggest Wikia and tv.com as alternate venues for this information. I noticed the episodes that need to be disambiguated from other things have the extension (The O.C. episode) rather than the conventional just (The O.C.). I would like to move all of the episodes to conform to the WP:TV-NC standards, but want to make sure I am doing the right thing and that this isn't a special exemption like for The Simpsons episode articles.
