Lindlar lies between 7°15 ' and 7°28 ' longitudes east as well as 50°58 ' and 51°5 ' north latitude. The highest point with a height of 361.8 ms lies with Oberlichtinghagen, deepest with 131.5 ms with Köttingen.

She was cool. And it was good.

McCarthy was born in [[Chicago, Illinois]], to a middle-class [[Irish American]] [[Catholic]] family that lived in Southwest Chicago in the [[West Elsdon, Chicago|West Elsdon]] neighborhood. She is the second of four daughters; her sisters are named [[Joanne McCarthy|Joanne]], [[Amy McCarthy|Amy]] and Lynette. After getting accepted by ''Playboy'' in 1993, the magazine wanted her to pose for the October issue. McCarthy was paid $30,000 for the photo shoot. McCarthy became the Playmate of the Month and later the Playmate of the Year. With this, McCarthy gained attention and popularity. In [[1994]], McCarthy moved to [[Los Angeles, California|Los Angeles]]. For a time, she hosted ''Hot Rocks'', a [[Playboy TV]] show featuring uncensored [[music video]]s.

In [[1995]], [[MTV]] chose McCarthy to be the host of a new dating show called ''[[Singled Out]]'', for which she left ''Hot Rocks''. Her job as a host was a success, and Playboy wanted her to model more. In [[1996]], McCarthy landed a small part in the comedy ''[[The Stupids]]''. In [[1997]] McCarthy launched two shows. The arms were granted on August 6, [[1935]]. The arms show in the upper part the lion of the Counts of Berg and in the lower the balance as a symbol of justice. Lindlar had its own court in the County Berg. The arms are based on the old seal of the court and village of Lindlar.

Likely the area around Lindlar was settled in the stone age, but there are no proofs for that except some artefacts from the New Stone Age found in Kemmerich and Fenke. Till the middle ages the area was covered with virgin forests, thus one might assume that only little people, probably hunter, lived here.

In [[2003]], McCarthy appeared in ''[[Scary Movie 3]]'' along with model and actress [[Pamela Anderson]]. In [[2005]], McCarthy produced, wrote and starred in ''[[Dirty Love]]'' along with [[Carmen Electra]]. The same year, McCarthy hosted a new show on [[E!]] called ''Party at the Palms''. The reality show, which is filmed at [[The Palms]] Hotel in [[Las Vegas, Nevada|Las Vegas]], features hotel guests, party goers and celebrities acting outrageously with McCarthy. In March 2006, she was given [[2005 Golden Raspberry Awards|Razzie Awards]] for "Worst Actress," "Worst Screenplay," and "Worst Picture" for her work on ''Dirty Love'', which also netted her then-husband, [[John Mallory Asher|John Asher]], a Razzie for "Worst Director."

With this document it concerns the donation document of the church to "Kaldenkapellen" (the today's place Hohkeppel) to the Colgne Severinsstift. At that time Hohkeppel as well as Engelskirchen belonged to the Urpfarrbezirk Lindlar.

Though McCarthy initially rose to fame because of her sexual image, a frequent source of her celebrity derives from [[toilet humor]], particularly the shock of seeing a beautiful woman urinate, vomit, pass gas, or pick her nose.

Another Candies ad, which did not cause as much controversy, found McCarthy passing gas in a crowded elevator. A sketch on her MTV show centered around her character, a well-coifed business woman, answering the question of "What did you have for lunch?" by forcing herself to vomit all over a table (which she then ate on-screen). The direct contrast of McCarthy's reputation as a sex symbol and this often grotesque humor is closely associated with her image. The tower of the parish church of Lindlar was build in the 12th century and remains till today, although the tower's roof was build in the 18th century. A nave was lustrated in the year of 1500, the present nave was build in 1826. The village of Lindlar was centred around the church.

McCarthy has authored a series of three books about her experience with pregnancy and raising her son, Evan.

In the course of time more and more woods were stubed, both by the farmers and on order of the landlords. Centers of the expansion were the so called "Fronhöfe" and the "Herrenhöfe". Here the farmers had to pay their tenth and the work of courts and administration were done.

=== Personal life ===

The "Bergische Land" was divided in departments and circuits. The area around Lindlar, including Wipperfeld, Bechen, Kürten, Olpe, Lindlar, Overath, Engelskirchen, Hohkeppel and Wipperfürth formed the department of Steinbach. Steinbach is a small village next to Lindlar and was named after the castle of Steinbach.

In [[1993]], McCarthy underwent [[breast augmentation]] to enhance her look as a model for ''[[Playboy]]''. Borrowing a page from fellow [[Playmate]] [[Pamela Anderson]]'s publicity playbook, McCarthy took them out in 1998.

McCarthy dated her manager Ray Manzella for a short time in 1998. After breaking up with Manzella, McCarthy began dating actor/director [[John Mallory Asher|John Asher]]. The couple got engaged in [[January]] [[1999]], and married that year on [[September 11]]. They have a son, Evan Joseph, born on [[May 18]], [[2002]]. In [[August]] [[2005]], McCarthy and Asher filed for [[divorce]].

In this time a county court was set up in Lindlar. In 1440 Hohkeppel and in 1554 Engelskirchen had their own parish churches.

In 1806 Napoleon bestowed upon the county of Berg the honour of being a grand duchy. The county court in Lindlar remained, but was renamed in "Friedensgericht". Furthermore the "canton Lindlar" was formed.

In December [[2005]], McCarthy began dating actor [[Jim Carrey]]. They did not make their relationship public until June 2006.

In May [[2007]], McCarthy announced that her son was diagnosed with autism and would be coming out with a book on the subject shortly. ''Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism'' is due out in September of 2007.

After 1815 the whole Rhineland became part of Preußen and the "district Wipperfürth" was set up. In 1828 the population of Lindlar was 5430, 5396 were catholic and only 34 protestants.

In 1882 an auxiliary fire brigade in Lindlar was arranged. A new building for the county court in Lindlar had to be build in 1895. In 1897 the municipal council first reflected upon the idea of a railway connection to Lindlar. The idea was to build a connection to Immekeppel where a train to Cologne departed and arrived. In 1906 this was allowed by the government and the railway Cologne - Bergisch Gladbach - Immekeppel - Lindlar was opened in 1912. There were serveral elementary schools in Lindlar: in the town of Lindlar, Linde, Waldbruch, Süng, Frielingsdorf, Hohkeppel, Schmitzhöhe and Kalkofen. Since the priest Johannes Fischer and the carpenter Christian MIebach gave their legacy for a new hospital, a hospital was build in Lindlar and opened in 1891.

Up to the second world war Lindlar was predominantly a Catholic, Protestant inhabitant had to be established on account of the increased number in 1956 a Protestant church. In addition, at the beginning [[1990s|the 90s]] a Protestant free church and a neuapastolische church settled.

In Lindlar are six elementary schools in different villages: Frielingsdorf, Kapellensüng, Linde, Schmitzhöhe, Lindlar west and the Lindlar east.
