Lindlar is a Northrhine-Westfalian municipality in the Oberbergischer Kreis, about 30 km east of Cologne.

Biography
Position and description
Early life
Lindlar lies between 7°15 ' and 7°28 ' longitudes east as well as 50°58 ' and 51°5 ' north latitude. The highest point with a height of 361.8 ms lies with Oberlichtinghagen, deepest with 131.5 ms with Köttingen.

She was cool. And it was good.
Neighbouring towns are Gummersbach, Wipperfürth, Overath and Bergisch Gladbach, and the neighbouring municipalities are Engelskirchen, Marienheide and Kürten.
McCarthy was born in Chicago, Illinois, to a middle-class Irish American Catholic family that lived in Southwest Chicago in the West Elsdon neighborhood. She is the second of four daughters; her sisters are named Joanne, Amy and Lynette. Her mother, Linda, was a housewife, and her father, Dan McCarthy, was a steel mill foreman. She attended St. Turibius Grade School on Chicago's South Side. As a teenager, McCarthy attended Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School (whose school sweater she donned in the pages of Playboy) and was cheerleader at both Brother Rice High School and St. Laurence High Schools,<!-- no citation for status as cheerleading captain--> although she has referred to herself as an "outcast" at her school. After McCarthy graduated from high school, she attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale to study nursing. She needed money to pay for college, so she decided to submit her picture to Playboy magazine to make money. She was accepted and became a model.

Modeling and acting career
The municipalitie of Lindlar is coined by these main villages: Lindlar (local centre), Frielingsdorf, Linde, Hohkeppel, Schmitzhöhe, Kapellensüng.
After getting accepted by Playboy in 1993, the magazine wanted her to pose for the October issue. McCarthy was paid $30,000 for the photo shoot. McCarthy became the Playmate of the Month and later the Playmate of the Year. With this, McCarthy gained attention and popularity. In 1994, McCarthy moved to Los Angeles. For a time, she hosted Hot Rocks, a Playboy TV show featuring uncensored music videos.

In 1995, MTV chose McCarthy to be the host of a new dating show called Singled Out, for which she left Hot Rocks. Her job as a host was a success, and Playboy wanted her to model more. In 1996, McCarthy landed a small part in the comedy The Stupids. In 1997 McCarthy launched two shows. The first one was an MTV sketch comedy show called The Jenny McCarthy Show, which was popular enough that NBC signed her to do a sitcom later that year called Jenny, generally considered a disappointment and was quickly canceled. Also in 1997, she appeared on one of two covers for the September issue of Playboy, the other cover had Pamela Anderson on the cover. McCarthy also released an autobiography: Jen-X. McCarthy once modeled for Candies, a shoe company. In one advertisement, McCarthy posed naked wearing only shoes and having her panties off while sitting on a toilet seat. This stirred a controversy.
The coat of arms of Lindlar
The arms were granted on August 6, 1935. The arms show in the upper part the lion of the Counts of Berg and in the lower the balance as a symbol of justice. Lindlar had its own court in the County Berg. The arms are based on the old seal of the court and village of Lindlar.

In 1998, McCarthy starred in BASEketball. In 1999, she starred in Diamonds, a movie which was directed by her husband John Mallory Asher. The next year, she appeared in the popular horror movie Scream 3. Since 2001, McCarthy has guest-starred in many shows as Stacked, Charmed, The Drew Carey Show, Fastlane and Just Shoot Me!.
History
Settlement and first naming
Likely the area around Lindlar was settled in the stone age, but there are no proofs for that except some artefacts from the New Stone Age found in Kemmerich and Fenke. Till the middle ages the area was covered with virgin forests, thus one might assume that only little people, probably hunter, lived here.

In 2003, McCarthy appeared in Scary Movie 3 along with model and actress Pamela Anderson. In 2005, McCarthy produced, wrote and starred in Dirty Love along with Carmen Electra. The same year, McCarthy hosted a new show on E! called Party at the Palms. The reality show, which is filmed at The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, features hotel guests, party goers and celebrities acting outrageously with McCarthy. In March 2006, she was given Razzie Awards for "Worst Actress," "Worst Screenplay," and "Worst Picture" for her work on Dirty Love, which also netted her then-husband, John Asher, a Razzie for "Worst Director."
The place was mentioned for the first time in the year 1109. However, can be assumed on account of the eldest document of the municipality from the year 958 from the fact that Lindlar, formerly also than "Lintlo" designates, is substantially elder. With this document it concerns the donation document of the church to "Kaldenkapellen" (the today's place Hohkeppel) to the Colgne Severinsstift. At that time Hohkeppel as well as Engelskirchen belonged to the Urpfarrbezirk Lindlar.

Public persona
Already 945 a "yard Lindlar is mentioned " as a property Ursulastift in Cologne.
Though McCarthy initially rose to fame because of her sexual image, a frequent source of her celebrity derives from toilet humor, particularly the shock of seeing a beautiful woman urinate, vomit, pass gas, or pick her nose.

Another Candies ad, which did not cause as much controversy, found McCarthy passing gas in a crowded elevator. A sketch on her MTV show centered around her character, a well-coifed business woman, answering the question of "What did you have for lunch?" by forcing herself to vomit all over a table (which she then ate on-screen). The direct contrast of McCarthy's reputation as a sex symbol and this often grotesque humor is closely associated with her image. This image was taken to a new extreme in her film Dirty Love, which featured McCarthy's character sitting in a massive pool of her own menstrual blood.
Till 1815
The tower of the parish church of Lindlar was build in the 12th century and remains till today, although the tower's roof was build in the 18th century. A nave was lustrated in the year of 1500, the present nave was build in 1826. The village of Lindlar was centred around the church.

McCarthy has authored a series of three books about her experience with pregnancy and raising her son, Evan.
In the course of time more and more woods were stubed, both by the farmers and on order of the landlords. Centers of the expansion were the so called "Fronhöfe" and the "Herrenhöfe". Here the farmers had to pay their tenth and the work of courts and administration were done.

McCarthy is also an occasional columnist for FHM magazine and is currently a spokesperson for Weight Watchers.

Personal life
The "Bergische Land" was divided in departments and circuits. The area around Lindlar, including Wipperfeld, Bechen, Kürten, Olpe, Lindlar, Overath, Engelskirchen, Hohkeppel and Wipperfürth formed the department of Steinbach. Steinbach is a small village next to Lindlar and was named after the castle of Steinbach.
In 1993, McCarthy underwent breast augmentation to enhance her look as a model for Playboy. Borrowing a page from fellow Playmate Pamela Anderson's publicity playbook, McCarthy took them out in 1998.

McCarthy dated her manager Ray Manzella for a short time in 1998. After breaking up with Manzella, McCarthy began dating actor/director John Asher. The couple got engaged in January 1999, and married that year on September 11. They have a son, Evan Joseph, born on May 18, 2002. In August 2005, McCarthy and Asher filed for divorce.
In this time a county court was set up in Lindlar. In 1440 Hohkeppel and in 1554 Engelskirchen had their own parish churches.

In a February 2006 interview with Howard Stern, adult actress Jenna Jameson said she had two sexual encounters with McCarthy. When McCarthy visited Stern's show in April 2006, she denied having sex with Jameson, but said she "made out" with her during the two encounters. McCarthy also took a lie detector test and passed the questions regarding Jameson. During the appearance, McCarthy also admitted to having performed oral sex on women and that she cheated on her ex-husband with both men and women. However, in a later appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she claimed they didn't cheat on each other because it was totally agreed upon.
In 1806 Napoleon bestowed upon the county of Berg the honour of being a grand duchy. The county court in Lindlar remained, but was renamed in "Friedensgericht". Furthermore the "canton Lindlar" was formed.

In December 2005, McCarthy began dating actor Jim Carrey. They did not make their relationship public until June 2006.
1815 - 1870
In May 2007, McCarthy announced that her son was diagnosed with autism and would be coming out with a book on the subject shortly. Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism is due out in September of 2007.
After 1815 the whole Rhineland became part of Preußen and the "district Wipperfürth" was set up. In 1828 the population of Lindlar was 5430, 5396 were catholic and only 34 protestants.

She lives in Sherman Oaks, California, next to heiress Margo Wilson. Her cousin is Melissa McCarthy of the Gilmore Girls.
1871 - 1918
Appearances in Playboy special editions
In 1882 an auxiliary fire brigade in Lindlar was arranged. A new building for the county court in Lindlar had to be build in 1895. In 1897 the municipal council first reflected upon the idea of a railway connection to Lindlar. The idea was to build a connection to Immekeppel where a train to Cologne departed and arrived. In 1906 this was allowed by the government and the railway Cologne - Bergisch Gladbach - Immekeppel - Lindlar was opened in 1912. There were serveral elementary schools in Lindlar: in the town of Lindlar, Linde, Waldbruch, Süng, Frielingsdorf, Hohkeppel, Schmitzhöhe and Kalkofen. Since the priest Johannes Fischer and the carpenter Christian MIebach gave their legacy for a new hospital, a hospital was build in Lindlar and opened in 1891.

Lindlar has, as one of few municipalities, its own leisure park. It was established between 1980 and 1982. There are a swimming pool (Parkbad Lindlar), a crazy golf layout, a concert space, an adventure game space, boot rental company as well as several investments is found for sport. The leisure park directly borders on the castle park of the Castle Heiligenhoven and on the Lindlarer cultural centre.

The municipality has more than seven sports fields, a stadium with field as well as one with Aschenplatz, seven gymnasiums, under it two big triple run halls and a gymnastics hall and two tennis courts. Also, there is an indoor swimming pool, including sauna, fitness and sunbathing area and sports field, a sail airfield, riding spaces, a gulf layout, a shooting gallery and skittle-alleys.

In Lindlar there are a lot of footpaths and the streets have separate cycle lanes. Cyclists use, mainly, the forestry and countryside tracks.

Economy, industry and infrastructure
From the 16th to the 19th century the iron industry was in the environment of Lindlar, and stood economically in high blossom. Numerous iron hammer and furnaces were run there whose remaining stocks are to be found today partially still. by the way, the agriculture and the down-to-earth craft, for instance, the stone industry (reduction and processing of the greywacke), paper processing, home industry and file cutting was maintained. In addition, in the beginning of the 80s a settlement of company took place in the new industrial zone of Klause.

Lindlarer greywacke
For more than 400 years it is diminished in Lindlar greywacke. If this industry fork still hundred years ago was a main employer of the Lindlarer population, today only three producing companies exist. In many places former stone quarries which are today an important living space for all sorts of animal species are found. The Lindlarer greywacke was used on site to the construction, examples for this are the steeple of the Catholic parish church Saint Severin. Also it was sold in the other environment, for instance, to Cologne. In this connection the Lindlarer railroad which transported the rock till the 60s by railway is worth mentioning. For this target led from the main reduction area - a brake road.

Situation on the roads
Highway
Lindlar about the federal motorway A4 (Cologne Olpe) is linked up to the highway net. At the best to use the motorway at exit Engelskirchen ((in 7 kilometers of distance) or Overath-Untereschbach (15 kilometers).
Railroad
The next railway station is in Engelskirchen, Lindlar itself has no more road binding. On the railroad line Lindlar - Linde - Hoffnungsthal - Cologne a personal train went in October, 1960 for the last time. Then the setting of the commercial transport followed on the 23rd May, 1966. In 2005 the rails were dismantled as much as possible.
Bus connections and railroad connections
Lindlar lies very traffic-favorable with the A4 (exit Untereschbach or Engelskirchen). Also the ÖPNV is developed according to line very well.
Nevertheless, in the evening hours no buses operate.
