Some [[Wikipedia:Wikipedians|Wikipedian]]s have formed a [[Wikipedia:WikiProject|project]] to better organize information in articles related to '''radio stations'''. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the [[{{NAMESPACE}} talk:{{PAGENAME}}|talk page]] and see the [[Wikipedia:to-do list|to-do list]] there.
Piper-Heidsieck currently produces six different champagnes: Cuvée Brut, Rosé Sauvage, Cuvée Sublime, Brut Divin, Brut Vintage 1998 and Cuvée Rare. Owning no vineyards of their own, Piper-Heidsieck sources grapes from 60 vinyards in the Champagne region for use in their wines. Piper-Heidsieck currently produces around five million bottles of champagne a year.

===Article creation for stations without call signs===
For articles for stations located in countries which do not use government-issued call signs, including much of [[Europe]] and [[Asia]], generally use the station name as used on-air.
: ''Example: Use '[[ALL FM]]', not 'ALL FM South Manchester'.''
; If disambiguation is needed, station names should be in the format 'station name (___location)' with a [[Wikipedia:Disambiguation|disambiguation]] page at 'station name'.
: ''Example: Since the station name Touch FM is used multiple times in the UK, an article for a station located in Coventry would have the name [[Touch FM (Coventry)]] with a link placed on the [[Touch FM]] disambiguation page.
====Modifying article titles for stations that change their station names====
; If the renamed station retains the existing format
: Move the article to the station's new name, keeping the old name as a redirect. Then, update the article to refer to any changes to the station's name/ownership.
: ''Example: [[The Bear 102]] becomes [[Touch FM (Stratford-upon-Avon)]].''
; If the renamed station adopts a new format (in effect, a new station using the existing frequency), or if the station is changed due to regulatory intervention (loss of frequencies, etc.)
: Create a '''new article''' for the new station, but include a brief reference to the old station. Furthermore, the '''first air date''' field of the article's infobox should refer to the launch date of the new station. In addition, the article for the old station should be updated to indicate that the station ''in that form'' is now defunct. A good way to indicate this would be to append <nowiki>''(defunct)''</nowiki> to the station's name in its infobox.
: ''Example: [[102.2 Jazz FM]] becomes [[102.2 Smooth FM]].''
; If a station retains its existing name, but radically changes its format
: Create a new section within the existing article about the format change.
===Article creation for stations with call signs===
For countries that use call signs, the official call sign should typically be used. However, in places with a mix of call signs and station names, such as most of Central and South America, the station name should normally be used, except when the call sign is well-known.
Several countries keep databases of official call signs.

*United States

;For stations with suffixes (-FM for FM stations and -TV for television stations, etc.) that do not have other articles using the same call sign
: A redirect not containing the suffix should be created.
:''Example: [[WNEP-TV]] has no other stations using that call sign. Therefore, [[WNEP]] would be created as a redirect.''
;If more than one article has the same base call sign, or if an acronym shares that call sign
: A disambiguation page should be created at the base call sign. In addition, for stations without suffixes in their official names, the format 'KXXX (AM)', 'KXXX (FM)', 'KXXX (TV)', etc. should be used for their article names when renaming.
:''Example: Since there are multiple KCBS stations, a disambiguation page is created at [[KCBS]] that points to the stations at [[KCBS (AM)]], [[KCBS-FM]], and [[KCBS-TV]]
;If a station has an unusual suffix, such as '-CA' (low-power TV), or '-LP' (low-power FM)
: A redirect containing the usual suffix should be created.
:''Example: For the station 'WXYZ-CA', a redirect at 'WXYZ-TV' would be created.
;If a station changes its call sign
:Note: This section will need clarification.
:The station's full history should be listed in its present (or last call sign if at all possible), since its old call sign may be reassigned to a new station.
:''Example: A station with the call sign 'CXXX' received a new call sign of 'CYYY'. Another station receives their former call sign. Accordingly, references to the original station '''must''' link to 'CYYY', using pipe text to replace the call sign with CXXX. They '''must not''' link to the new station at 'CXXX'.''
: Note: In some rare situations, it may be unclear whether a new call sign should be considered a successor to an old one, or an entirely new station. If there is any doubt, solicit opinions on this project's talk page.
===Article format===
Here is one suggestion on how to begin:
:'''KLMN''' (102.3 [[FM broadcasting|FM]], "The Illuminator") is a [[radio station]] broadcasting an [[oldies]] format. Licensed to the suburb of [[Smallville, USA]], it serves the [[Metropolis]] metropolitan area. It first began broadcasting in [[1933]] under the [[callsign (radio)|call sign]] '''KRYP'''. The station is currently owned by [[Lexcorp]].
It is probably best to link "FM" to [[FM broadcasting]] and "AM" to [[AM broadcasting]], instead of "FM" to [[frequency modulation]] and "AM" to [[amplitude modulation]] since they are more generic terms.
Where applicable, include a call sign history that is as complete as possible. For stations in the United States, the FCC query pages provide links that can show call sign history (at least back to about 1980). The templates {{tl|AMQ}} and {{tl|FMQ}} are available, which will add to an article an automatically-generated link to the relevant entry in the FCC's online database.
If you are only able to get a few details for a particular station, please add {{tl|radio-station-stub}} at the bottom of the page. Country-specific categories, such as {{tl|US-radio-station-stub}}, {{tl|Canada-radio-station-stub}} or {{tl|Mexico-bcast-stub}}, should be used when possible.
===Categories===
There are many categories that can be used. Many states and provinces now have their own categories for radio. Normally, American and Canadian stations should use at least these categories (such as [[:Category:Radio stations in Washington]]). If a state or province subcategory exists or can be created, then please do ''not'' file a station in both the state/province and country categories; this is not consistent with Wikipedia policy on the use of categories. Instead, the station should be filed ''only'' in the state or province category; the category is then filed in the country category.
Similarly, if a distinct category exists for radio stations in a particular city or metropolitan market, file the station only in the city category, and file the ''city'' category as a subcategory of the state or province. See [[Wikipedia:Categories, lists, and series boxes#Categories|Categories, lists and series boxes]] for more information.
A radio station should ''never'' be filed directly in [[:Category:Radio stations]], except in the rare circumstance where it would be ''impossible'' to create a more appropriate subcategory.
;Note:
:The U.S. state of [[Georgia (U.S. state)|Georgia]] has peculiar category names to avoid conflict with the country: [[:Category:Radio stations in Georgia (U.S. state)]].
Ownership categories are also useful, if they exist:
*[[:Category:Clear Channel radio stations]] ([[Clear Channel Communications]])
*[[:Category:Disney radio stations]] ([[The Walt Disney Company|Disney]]/[[American Broadcasting Company]]/etc.)
*[[:Category:CHUM Limited]]
*...
Categories by country:
*[[:Category:Radio stations in the United States]] (and state subcategories)
*[[:Category:Radio stations in the United Kingdom]]
*[[:Category:Radio stations in Canada]] (and province subcategories)
*etc.
