La Collezione occidentale accoglie numerosi manoscritti miniati, libri rari, incisioni e disegni. La collezione di papiri è una delle più ricche del mondo e include quasi interamente il ''corpus'' delle "Canzoni d'amore dell'Antico Egitto".
