'''M. Richard Rose''' was the 7th president of the [[Rochester Institute of Technology]], succeeding [[Paul Miller]], from 1979-1991. Under Rose's leadership, Eisenhower College was incorporated into RIT, and liberal arts and humanities programs were expanded. The first PhD program ([[imaging science]]) was launched during his tenure in 1988.
