The network was set up primarily as a chat network for friends, and as a response to growing disillusionment with the policies of some of the [[AfterNET]] administrators. Several users from AbleNET were involved in the creation of [[AfterNET]]; some even tracing their usage back to [[TheNET]] and [[InnerNET]].

AbleNET is a small network with an average of 150-300 users online at any given time. The [[Undernet]]-compatible [[IRCu]] [[Daemon (computer software)|daemon]] software is used on the servers. [[IRC_Services|Channel services]] are provided using [[srvx]]; the user authentication service is named AuthServ and the channel service is named X.

AbleNET is noted for its distinct lack of [[IRCOp]]s, instead using various services to control the flow of network stability and activity. Additionally, the Network is noted for its high standards of access, regarding the limit of multiple connections and unverifiable "bots".

As a kid, Alfonso, or Poncho as his friends called him, dreamed of becoming a pilot and wanted to move to San Antonio, Texas to enroll in an aviation school. He had also shown an interest in acting at an early age, and therefore he entered the ''[[Centro de Educación Artística]]'' run by [[Latin America]]n media giant ''[[Televisa]]''. Following this training, he worked profesionally in the theatre, including performances in ''Las Brujas de Salem'' (2001), ''Como matar a un ruiseñor'' (2001) and ''Antigona'' (2001). In 2002, he was cast in the film ''[[Amar te duele]]'', directed by [[Fernando Sariñana]], and from there moved into television, working in the ''telenovelas'' ''[[Clase 406]]'' and ''[[Rebelde]]''.

Alfonso is a member of the band RBD, formed by actors from the telenovela ''Rebelde''. He is widely regarded as a heartthrob on the show and in the band, and his character Miguel's relationship with Mia [[Anahí|(Anahí)]] is featured constantly. Alfonso dated [[Dulce María]], an actress in ''Rebelde'' and also a member of RBD, but they broke up. There are rumors that he has been dating [[Anahí]] (another member of RBD and also an actress in Rebelde) for some time now, but neither of them admit it.

== Historical Timeline ==

On [[July 13]], [[2006]], Alfonso won the [[Esta Buenismo]] and [[El De Mejor Estilo]] awards during the [[Premios Juventud]] award show which aired on [[Univision]]. He also won awards at that show with his group [[RBD]]. He is dating a very famous model.

== Founder ==

Anthony Sanchez has been using and administering IRC Networks since 1995, starting as an IRCop with InnerNET subsequently [[NewNET]] during it's founding year. Later he went on to Admin servers for [[TheNET]], [[AfterNET]] and finally AbleNET.
