The company's power generation portfolio consists of two main parts. One is the fossil fuel power plants around Tokyo Bay for peak load supply, and the other is the nuclear power plants in Fukushima and Niigata Prefecture for base load supply. Additionally, Hydroelectric plants in the mountainous areas in the outskirt of Kanto Plain, though it has relatively small capacity compared with fossil fuel and nuclear, bear an essential role in peak load supply. The company procures electricity from other regional or wholesale electric power companies such as The Tohoku Electric Power, The J-Power, and The Japan Atomic Power Company.

===Transmission and Distribution===
*[[Education in Denmark]]
The company has built a radiated and circular grid between power plants and demand area such as cities and industrial district. Each transmission lines is designed to transmit electricity at ultra-high-voltage (66-500kV) between power plants and substations near demand area. Normally transmission lines are aerial cable hung on towers, except for underground lines inside Tokyo.
From substations, electricity is carried via distribution grid at high voltage (22-6kV). For high voltage supply such as large buildings and actories, distribution lines are directly connected to customer's electric facilities. In this case, customers must purchase and set up transformers and other equipments to run their electric appliances. For low voltage supply such as houses, and small shops, distribution lines are firstly connected to the company's transformers (which you can see on utility poles and utility boxes) to transform electricity to 100/200V, and finally connected to customers.
Its transmission and distribution section is also known as the most reliable network in the world. Blackout frequency and average recovery time is on highly remarkable level compared with other electric companies in the country and other developped countries.
