A '''Stronghold''' in [[Politics of Canada|Canadian Politics]] is a slang term for a [[riding]] in which a party consistently wins by large margins and is considered a safe riding for that party despite who their candidate is. Typically [[List of political parties in Canada|Canadian Political Parties]] do not campaign heavily in Strongholds, prefering to direct funds towards contestable ridings.
