Pine Ledge is a remote section of Cockaponset State Forest located about a half mile west of Deep River, Connecticut. This area gets it's name from a dramatic ledge of rocks along it's eastern edge.
Ralts (ラルトス Ralts in Japan, Trasla in Germany and Tarsal in France) is a Psychic Pokémon from the Pokémon series of games. It is listed as Pokémon #280 in the National Pokédex, and #029 in the Hoenn Pokédex.

Recreation
"Ralts" appears to be derived from "waltz", a type of dance, and possibly runt, as it is a rather small pokemon. Its entire line appears to have similarity to dancers, so this would be logical, though it's only speculation.

It is recommended to have a high-clearance vehicle when visiting this area; the access roads are very rugged and may become thick with mud after a heavy rain or during the spring melt. Even though the use of all-terrain-vehicles has not been officially designated, the Pine Ledge area has become very popular among local riders. Jeeps and 4X4 off-road vehicles have also utilized some of the old abandoned access roads as trails. There are some hiking trails used primarily by the locals and a popular rock climbing destination along the rocks at Pine Ledge.
Biology
Ralts is an elusive Pokémon; it very rarely appears before humans. When it does, the person's emotions are a key factor in deciding whether it will come closer or run away -- if it senses good will and happiness, it will advance, and if it senses hostility, it will run away. Its ability to sense emotions is linked to the horns on its head. Ralts likes to copy the emotions of its trainer -- if the trainer is happy, Ralts will be happy, and vice-versa, thus its Synchronize ability.

References
Ralts appears to wear a long white dress, though it is unclear as to whether it has a body underneath, or whether this "dress" is its body. Its head is also white. It has a green bowl-cut of hair -- although some say it looks more like a helmet -- and two red semicircular horns that grow from the front and back of its head. Its eyes are completely covered by its hair/helmet, although when Ralts faints in the Pokémon games for the GameCube, it falls backwards, revealing a pair of melancholy eyes for a few seconds. Recently, an image of Ralts on the Pokemon Trading Card of the same name in EX Emerald has revealed it to sport leg-like appendages as part of it's "dress," which it apparently uses to hop.

In the Video Games
Ralts can be caught in the wild in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, however, it is one of the more elusive Pokemon in the games. A trade is required if a Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen or Pokémon Colosseum player wants one. In Pokemon XD, one can be snagged from Cipher Peon Feldas.

In the Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, the player is asked by his/her father, Norman, to help a young man named Wally catch a Pokémon (this serves as a tutorial for those unfamiliar with the game). Wally enters the grass and is lucky enough to encounter a Ralts, which he easily weakens and catches. He promptly leaves for Verdanturf Town, but meets with the player in Mauville City where he battles with Ralts for the first time. He battles again later near the exit of Victory Road in EverGrande City, with a full team featuring a Gardevoir. In Pokemon Emerald, Wally battles you at the beginning of Hoenn's Victory Road.

In the Anime
Ralts is featured in the episode "Do I Hear A Ralts?" ("Rescue Ralts! Hurry Max!" in Japan), where the protagonists try to take care of an injured Ralts, but have to race against not only Team Rocket, but her mother, Gardevoir, who thinks they're stealing Ralts. Max makes a promise to Ralts that it would be part of his team when he becomes a Trainer. However, it is unclear whether Max ever actually will become a Trainer and set out on his own journey during the course of the anime.

Ralts also appears in the episode "Psychic Vs. Ghost! Midnight Showdown!" which is yet to air in America.

Other Appearances
In Pokémon Adventures, one of Ruby's first three Pokémon was a Ralts named Ruru. He lent Ruru to Wally to help him catch a Pokémon of his own, and due to a natural disaster separating Ruby and Wally, Wally still has Ruru with him.
