'''Canadian Idiot''' is a 2006 song by [["Weird Al" Yankovic]] from his album ''[[Straight Outta Lynwood]]''. It is a parody of [[Green Day]]'s "[[American Idiot (song)|American Idiot]]". The song's lyrics consist in a sarcastic parody of a supposed stereotypical American view of Canadians' way of life. Yankovic pokes fun at an accentuated Canadian accent, the fct that they "treat curling just like its a real sport, the fact they drink alot of beer, have stupid monopoly money,he also cals them frostbitted hoseheads,and that they export mape syrup and snow and the Canadians' love of hockey. The song was first performed in Canada on June 20th, 2007 in Winnipeg Manitoba. After the song Weird Al announced "That was the first time we've played that song in Canada, thanks for not killing us."

[[MuchMusic]], a 24-hour Canadian cable music and variety television channel, recently ran a contest for the song on their website, which ended December 27, 2006. Entrants had to submit a video of themselves being the "ultimate Canadian idiot." Five winning clips were to be shown on [[Much On Demand]].
