==License tagging for Image:Kimeternity.jpg==
[[Image:TEO1.jpg|right|]]
Thanks for uploading [[:Image:Kimeternity.jpg]]. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an [[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags|image tag]] applied to the [[Wikipedia:Image description page|image description page]] indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
'''The Earth Organization''' is an independent, international [[non-profit]], [[non-partisan]], conservation and environmental organization, with new solutions, committed to the creative, responsible rehabilitation of planet Earth and the plant and animal kingdoms.

The Earth Organization was founded in 2003 by veteran [[South African]] conservationist [[Lawrence Anthony]].
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

The Earth Organization works in association with corporations and other environmental groups around the world in projects of mutual interest.

==Purpose==
The stated purpose of The Earth Organization is:

#''To create a fundamental change in mankind’s awareness of, and relationship to, his environment and the plant and animal kingdoms, by example and education, thereby reversing the downward spiral of life on Earth.''
==Orphaned fair use image ([[:Image:SharN.JPG]])==
#''To bridge the gap between mankind, industry, commerce and the environment through applicable environmentalism, workable tools, accurate data and a business and scientific approach to the field of the environment.''
#''To raise ethical standards within the conservation movement.''

The Earth Organization has a strong scientific orientation and a reputation for bold conservation initiatives, including the rescue of the [[Baghdad zoo]] during the coalition [[invasion of Iraq]] in April 2003, negotiations with the infamous Ugandan [[Lords Resistance Army]], to protect game rangers and raise awareness of endangered species, including the [[Northern White Rhinoceros]], and work with remote rural African communities to rebuild cultural and traditional ties to nature.

== Re: X3 ==
Yeah, I think the movie was a bunch of old movie re-cut segments. I read X-men during my teens, and I felt so disappointed. Jean Grey's converting was just like the [[Exorcist]]. The bald-headed all "de-mutanizer" kid was a bit of [[Drew Barrymore]] from The [[firestarter]]. And that bridge-levitating all-diffusing scene was just awful (no meaning, just visual effects). As a whole it gave nothing new. To the plot, to the series continuum, to the sense. But still I will watch X-men spinoffs in the near future. Thanks for uploading '''[[:Image:Tupac4.jpg]]'''. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under [[Wikipedia:Fair use|fair use]] but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to [[:Image:Tupac4.jpg|the image description page]] and edit it to include a [[Help:Image_page#Fair_use_rationale|fair use rationale]].

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. == Eden Mor ==
All copyrighted images at wikipedia (like the one at Eden Mor) have to be Fair Use. If you direct yourself to [[WP:FU]] you'll find that we cannot use a copyrighted image merely to illustrate what someone looks like. Sucks, but that's the rule. Looks like you've gotten similar feedback from other users. --[[User:Beaker342|Beaker342]] 01:32, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

:I don't know how to make it any clearer than to cut and paste from [[WP:FU]]. If a picture is copyrighted, which it is obvious that the Eden Mor picture is, we don't get to use it just because we like it. For example, look at the articles for other famous individuals, such as Lance Armstrong or George Clooney and you'll find that the featured pictures were taken by amateurs, as any old picture that could be gotten off the internet would be copyrighted.--[[User:Beaker342|Beaker342]] 22:15, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

::Some people find it easier to understand the concept of fair use from what is not fair use. Here are a few examples of uses that would almost certainly not be acceptable as fair use:

::An article containing one or more unattributed pieces of text from a copyrighted source.
::An image of a rose, cropped from an image of a record album jacket, used to illustrate an article on roses.
::A detailed map, scanned from a copyrighted atlas, used in an article about the region depicted. The only context in which this might be fair use is if the map itself was a topic of a passage in the article: for example, a controversial map of a disputed territory might be fair use, if this controversy is discussed in the article.
::A work of art, not so famous as to be iconic, whose theme happens to be the Spanish Civil War, to illustrate an article on the war. (However, because of its iconic status, it is presumably Fair Use where we have a small image of Picasso's Guernica in the article Bombing of Guernica.)
::A photo from a press agency (e.g. Reuters, AP), not so famous as to be iconic, to illustrate an article on the subject of the photo. If photos are themselves newsworthy (e.g. a photo of equivalent notoriety as the Muhammad cartoons newspaper scan), low resolution versions of the photos may be fair use in related articles.
::An image of a Barry Bonds baseball card, to illustrate the article on Barry Bonds. A sports card image is a legitimate fair use if it is used only to illustrate the article (or an article section) whose topic is the card itself; see the Billy Ripken article.
::An image of a magazine cover, used only to illustrate the article on the person whose photograph is on the cover. However, if that magazine issue itself is notable enough to be a topic within the article, then fair use may apply.
::'''An image of a living person that merely shows what they look like.'''
::Any image found on the Internet where the original source is unknown or not verifable.

== Image:Wippleman.JPG ==
Thanks for uploading '''[[:Image:Wippleman.JPG]]'''. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under [[Wikipedia:Fair use|fair use]], but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our [[Wikipedia:Fair use criteria|first fair use criterion]] in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

# Go to [[:Image:Wippleman.JPG|the image description page]] and edit it to add <code><nowiki>{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}</nowiki></code>, '''without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template'''.
# On [[Image talk:Wippleman.JPG|the image discussion page]], write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, [[Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission|requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license]], or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on <span class="plainlinks">[{{fullurl:Special:Contributions|target={{PAGENAMEE}}&namespace=6}} this link]</span>. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Images.2FMedia|criteria for speedy deletion]].
