When used in specific ways, breathing allows us to release and resolve emotions, belief systems, stresses and memories which are often inaccessible through the more conventional talking therapies.
Breathing, beyond the basic need for survival, acts as a bridge between spirit, mind, and body; a bridge between the conscious and the subconscious. "Conscious Breathing" is one of the quickest way to open our hearts to love and inner peace, and to fill our bodies with life and health. Connecting the inhale with the exhale consciously and continuously, is one of the most effective ways of connecting us to ourselves, to each other, and all of us to Nature and existence. Conscious Breathing allows us to go into the deepest realities of life, to acknowledge our life processes, and to set the ground for personal transformation while reaching the highest states of consciousness.
“Breathwork” involves the study and practice of breath awareness and conscious breathing for spirit, mind, and body. Breathworkers use the Breath and Breathing Techniques as tools for health, growth, therapy, and change. Breath Mastery can be used to enhance and accelerate human development and learning on all levels. Breathwork and Breathing Techniques are now being taught all over the world
To work with the breath means to approach the psyche through the body using breath.
Breathwork can be experienced as an invaluable tool for growth on the spiritual path, as a method for personal healing and well-being, and as a form of psychotherapy.
Knowledge of breathwork is as old as human history. The first conscious breathing techniques were developed thousands of years ago.
All cultures throughout the world are familiar with the use of breath as a transformational tool in both shamanic and religious practices.
When the modern breath-oriented therapies were first developed in the 1970's, they signified the beginning of a new approach and a more holistic understanding of the human psyche. Using breath awareness as a primary catalyst, we discovered a simple and natural way to access the inner world of the human psyche. Never before had it been so easy to get in touch with and heal suffering caused by unconscious conditioning, unresolved birth trauma and old emotional wounds. Never before had access to altered states of consciousness been so easily available.
Released through our breath from the hold of past traumas, we are freed to pursue our lives with greater inner choice, ease and liberty. Raised by our breath into non-ordinary states, we pursue our spiritual development with greater ease and security.

Over the last twenty years, Breathwork has developed rapidly. Practices such as Rebirthing, Conscious Breathing, Holotropic Breathwork, Vivation, Transformational Breathwork, Yoga, Pranayama, Tai Chi, Chi Kung and others attract increasing numbers of practitioners and teachers. Breathwork literature is growing, and every year informative Breathwork books are published in several languages.
Breathwork in both its ancient and modern forms, is a simple, safe and gentle, and yet very powerful means to assisting with the release of old emotions that can result in reduced quality of life.
