OverviewEurope Release Date?
At this game's GameFAQs data, I can't find any info on a European release for this game, yet a European release date is listed. What is the source of this? Y0u (Y0ur talk page) (Y0ur contributions) 14:08, July 26, 2005 (UTC)
On August 20 1868, at 7.30 a.m., the Irish Mail train left the Euston Station in London for Holyhead. It pulled four passenger carriages, a mail van and a travelling post office. At 11.30 a.m. in Chester, it collected four additional passenger carriages that were attached immediately behind the locomotive. After an hour the train was approaching Abergele in north Wales.

The game was released in one area in Europe, while left unreleased everywhere else. While this, is a bit late, I believe it may or been Germany that released the game. I'm unsure at this time if it was Germany or some other place. But I believe Europe, only in one area, did get this game. Mendinso
At the same time at Llandulas to the west of Abergele, railway workers shunted cargo trucks from the main line to the sidings. During the shuffling, they had to leave six trucks with a brake van on the main line. Two of the trucks carried barrels of paraffin. When some of the trucks were shunted against them, the brakes in a brake van slipped, and the trucks begun to slide down the incline toward the Irish Mail.

Blue Image Inaccuracy
Engine driver Arthur Thompson saw the trucks speeding towards the train from behind the curve of the sea wall. He turned off steam and threw the engine into reverse, but it was too late. He jumped just before the inevitable collision, suffering serious injuries.

The image used for Blue in the character section is actually of the Mystic Lord Orlouge of Fascinaturu. A change should be made.
When the cargo trucks collided with the engine, the paraffin exploded, and fire engulfed the locomotive and the first four carriages, killing 32 passengers and the fireman in a matter of seconds.

Re: Blue Image Inaccuracy
A number of labourers ran to the scene from a nearby quarry and formed a human chain, trying to quench the flames with seawater; however, they failed to save anyone. (The bodies were so scarred that only three of them could be later identified.) The victims were buried in a mass grave in St Michael's churchyard in Abergele, with the London & North Western Railway Company paying all funeral expenses.

You're right. A quick Google search didn't turn up much beyond the shot of him on the game packaging. I can try to get around to scanning the image from the art book that came with my SaGa Frontier Soundtrack set, but that may take awhile. I'll also see about adding to this page within the next few months.
During the inquest, the coroner received an anonymous letter that put the blame on the Fenians; the Irish rebels had supposedly tried to assassinate the wife and servants of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. The inquest did not find any kind of evidence to support this, and the letter was declared a hoax.

Redirection
Injured Arthur Thompson was unfairly suspected of speeding but there was much sympathy for him; he died of his injuries in October. Llandulas' brakemen assured that they were very careful, although some witnesses claimed they had seen runaway trucks before. The brakemen were not prosecuted, but were criticised by the Board of Trade Inspector, Colonel Rich, for shunting on the main line too soon before the express was due. He also criticised the railway company for an inadequate siding layout.

The alkaiser's link, on this page redirects to itself, in a loop.
Newspapers blamed the railway company for not ensuring the safety of the passengers. The Board of Trade demanded a number of safety measures, including a telegraph system to connect all the stations, and that inflammable material should be transported on special trains.

AftermathGet the image right
The image of Blue is actually Orlouge, a totally different character. They look nothing alike, so I don't know how they could be confused. Someone fix it.
It became the practice for steep inclines to be fitted with runaway catchpoints so that runaway vehicles would be derailed and stopped before they had a chance to collide with following trains.

Currently doing an overhaul.
These catchpoints became widespread, and only diminished in numbers when all rolling stock was fitted with continuous automatic brakes in the 1980s.

Me and some helpers are doing a complete overhaul of the SaGa Frontier Wiki. We're adding everything we can, including info from the Essence of SaGa Frontier (if you're wondering why some of the info doesn't appear in the game, it's probably from Essence) if the page looks drastically different one moment to the next, don't worry, we're not hijacking anything. <small>—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Notorious MOG (talk • contribs) 18:10, 16 November 2006.</small><!-- Template:Unsigned -->
:You could try and use the preview function to cute down the number of edits, though. I won't change anything, unless it stops with a lot of stuff removed, but right now it DOES look like you're vandalizing. ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ 23:28, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry for all the mess. I'm rather new to Wikipedia (and I've always been terrible at HTML and site design), so that's my fault at how I organized my uh, changes. I know it's hard to see now, but I'll try my best to reorganize the wiki so it looks more professional and it has more info. This isn't going to be the SPEEDIEST process in the world (SaGa Frontier isn't exactly a super popular RPG), but like I said, I have people helping me, so we're all watching each otherss back and work.-Notorious MOG
Among those who lost their lives in the disaster were the Rt. Hon. Baron Henry Farnham K.P., aged 68 from Farnham, Cavan, Ireland and his wife Anna. A statue to his memory stands outside the new Johnston Central Library in Cavan.

:I just reverted what I aaumed was vandalism from you as it appeared you were blanking the pages. Please accept my apologies if this was a mistake on my part. Might I suggest using edit summaries to prevent future misunderstandings? Thanks. Farosdaughter 23:34, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, to be honest, it was a mistake, but it's alright, as I can see where you're coming from. Sorry about any confusion! Like I said, I'm reorganizing the page, but the flow of information coming in won't be lightning quick. Me and anyone else has to type the information as we get it, and that may require going back and forth between the game and the computer, so it will take some degree of time.
The fatal accident involving in the USA, Casey Jones also involved a station with sidings not long enough to hold the whole train clear of the main line.

:My apologies for the revert. However, I think it is possible that someone else may follow me so I strongly urge you to use edit summaries to explain your actions. Furthermore, would it be possible to make a Word document of the changes to the text of the article you want to make and change it in one go, as opposed to slowly inserting the text? Just a thought. Yes, most certainly! Thanks for the help and advice for a newbie like me. I'll try my best to make this page better with every edit. Much appreciated. Notorious MOG

I reverted the page back to the way it was before Notorious MOG started overhauling. There seems to be only gain by doing this. Any large changes should be finished before changing the page and making it worse. If you're going to do a major change to the page, do it, rather than change things to what looks like vandalism.
