Mickey first appeared when his mother, Kirsten ([[Nikola Dubois]]), came to Erinsborough to find Mickey's father, Kirsten's ex-boyfriend [[Ned Parker]] ([[Daniel O'Connor]]). Kirsten claimed she needed time alone to grieve for her grandparents, and needed Ned to looked after Mickey. Ned, not even aware he was a father, agreed, but it became obvious that he didn't know the first thing about looking after Mickey, and his dog Jake.

[[Marge Simpson|Marge]] becomes a spectacle during a [[PTA]] meeting for not having an [[e-mail address]], and she decides to take a chance on using the Internet. Amazed and delighted by all the Internet has to offer, Marge joins a popular [[Massive multiplayer online game|role-playing fantasy game]] called "Earthland Realms." To Marge’s dismay, the game has her interacting with practically the whole town of [[Springfield (The Simpsons)|Springfield]], including [[Bart Simpson|Bart]], who happens to be the game’s most feared and destructive player. Meanwhile, [[Homer Simpson|Homer]] saves [[Lisa Simpson|Lisa]]'s soccer game from cancellation after he volunteers to take the place of a referee who recently quit. However, Homer’s refereeing skills only exasperate Lisa, and her competitive streak gets the best of her. Homer who gives Lisa a red card after [[Ronaldo]] points out that Lisa is a "flopper", is hated by her. In the online-game Marge constantly frets about Bart and redecorates his "trophy room" with the "Hello, Kitty" expansion pack. Bart smashes all of these decorations with his weapon and accidentaly kills Marge's character. Homer and Bart go to Moe's Tavern to escape their troubles. There Homer drinks and Bart watches. Moe gives quality advice to Homer and Bart, prompting them to ask where the real Moe is as a joke. It is revealed that the actual Moe is tied up behind the bar. Acting on the fake Moe's advice, Bart makes up for the the killing of his mother's character by reviving her through giving her 75 percent of his character's health. Shortly after his character is killed by most of the townsfolk playing the game. Homer gives Lisa a [[BBC]] documentary about "floppers" and she realizes that she was at fault. Marge avenges Bart as the rest of the family plays soccer outside with Ronaldo. Marge, meanwhile, becomes the new Shadow Knight and avenges Bart.

After an incident in which Mickey lost his dog, Ned and his son bonded. However, not long after, Kirsten called, explaining she needed more time alone, possibly leaving Ned with the child indefinitely. In a later episode Kirsten re-appeared and told Ned it was time for her to live her life, seemingly leaving Mickey with Ned permanently.

*Homer headbutts a linesman just as [[Zinedine Zidane]] headbutted [[Marco Materazzi]] in the [[2006 FIFA World Cup Final]].

*Homer tearing his shirt off after scoring to reveal a sports bra is a reference to [[Brandi Chastain]] who scored on the fifth penalty kick in the 1999 [[FIFA Women's World Cup]] leading the [[United States]] to victory in the final match against [[China]].

*[[Samuel Barber]]'s [[Adagio for Strings]], notable as the score for the movie [[Platoon (movie)|Platoon]], plays during the soccer brawl Lisa watches on DVD. Ned decides to tell Micky he is his father over a special dinner, however Mickey falls into the number 30 pool trying to rescue a dead bird (that has died due to faulty wiring on the pool's light) - Mickey's life hung in the balance and sent Ned distraught.

*Marge says she was born on [[Randy Quaid]]'s birthday, meaning that she was born [[October 1]].

*[[Springfield Elementary School students#Jessica Lovejoy|Jessica Lovejoy]] and Sophie ([[Krusty]]'s daughter) are both seen playing soccer with Lisa.

*Ronaldo is seen wearing a [[Real Madrid F.C.|Real Madrid]] jersey, he currently plays for [[A.C. Milan]] after joining them in January 2007.

* In one of the last scenes Ronaldo is seen wearing a Brazil national team outfit from above, and in the next shot following it is a Real Madrid one.

Mickey makes a recovery and doctors give him the all-clear. Ned comes clean that he is Mickey's father. Mickey is overwhelmed, but Janae shys aways behind the door feeling pleased for both of them.

When Janae breaks the word that she may be leaving Erinsborough, Mickey is in tears and wets the bed. He finds himself in more sticky situations when a young bully (Max) vandalises his picture at Vacation Care. Following this incident Mickey accidentally wets himself and has the bully heckling him. When Ned and Janae arrive Ned faces off with Max's father but Janae prevents a punch-up.

After Janae's boxing match, a change of heart takes effect and Janae decides to stay, she couldn't make up her mind completely until Janelle forces her to see if Ned's feelings are the real thing.

Mickey's first day of school leads to devastating effects when Janae gives misconstrued advice about how to handle difficult people. Mickey comes under threat of expulsion if further trangressions continue. Unfortunately Mickey seems to see that the bullying showed people he wasn't intimidated and Ned feeling as he failed as a father. He makes it clear that he and he only will be the sole authority from now on.

More recently, Mickey accidently reversed a truck into a mini-bus full of several characters on their way home from the Yeats wedding. Could this be storyline be like that of the [[Neighbours Plane Crash]]?
