== Biografia ==

Lang nasce a Halifax nel 1925. Grazie ad una corporatura fisica prestante avrebbe potuto seguire le orme del padre e del nonno nel campo del [[rugby]] professionale, ma fin dall'adolescenza preferisce dedicarsi alla [[musica]], prima suonando il [[Pianoforte|piano]], poi il [[contrabbasso]], infine il [[trombone]] all'età di 21 anni, dopo aver ascoltato [[Disco in vinile|dischi]] del [[jazzista]] [[statunitense]] [[Jack Teagarden]].<ref name=":0">{{Cita web|url=httphttps://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/obituary-don-lang-1542139.html|titolo=Obituary: Don Lang|sito=The Independent|data=1992-08-24|lingua=en|accesso=2019-01-04}}</ref>
