Pearson worked for [[Gaumont]] and later joined the [[Colonial Film Unit]] (later the [[Commonwealth Film Unit]]), remaining in employment until the age of 81. In the late [[1950s]], his autobiography, <i>Flashback</i>, was published.
Pearson married Edith Stacey. They had four children. He died in [[Great Malvern]] in 1973, aged nearly 98.
