According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], the county has a total area of 1,491 [[square kilometer|km&sup2;]] (576 [[square mile|mi&sup2;]]). 1,482 km&sup2; (572 mi&sup2;) of it is land and 9 km&sup2; (3 mi&sup2;) of it is water. The total area is 0.60% water.
