:Wikipedia’s registered accounts have grown tenfold and total articles have tripled since I joined, yet there’s still only one arbitration committee. Each year, arbitration candidates promise to move cases faster. There are limits to how much that can help: this site is getting 20% more visitors now than just 3 months ago. 4.7% of all the people in the world who go online today will visit the English language edition of Wikipedia. This is phenomenal popularity and 3 to 5 years from now the site be a lot bigger. What will we do then?
:I ask for a 1 year fill-in position on the Committee to gain perspectives for that long range planning and because an editor with sleuthing skill is an asset to the committee. It’s important to weigh evidence critically and get each decision right. The Jmfangio-Chrisjnelson case took some surprising twists when I looked into it: one of the main parties turned out to be the reincarnation of a community banned editor and the other principal party was the target of an attempted joe job by a long term sneaky vandal.
:As one of the principal coauthors of the disruptive editing guideline and someone who’s been through a lot of arbitration cases (without ever becoming the target of an arbitration proposal), this candidacy comes with experience. I’ve been an editor for two years, an administrator for a year, have about 19,000 edits, and have volunteered for most of the site’s dispute resolution venues. I also make two standing offers to motivate sanctioned editors who improve after arbitration and sometimes I’ve awarded that barnstar to a person against whom I’d submitted evidence. The bottom line at arbcom elections is ‘’who would you trust?’’ Support me if you want fairness, thoroughness, and efficiency. <font face="Verdana"><span style="color:#009">Durova</span></font>Charge! 00:31, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
