Her inability to be choosy among films has almost damaged her career.

:I started out trying to address this question and fix the massive run-on first sentence and wound up rewriting nearly the entire introductory section. I think this version is clear and reflects the actual circumstances of the situation better: it's interesting as much for the social reaction as for the existence of the list itself.
