'''Function Details:''' Adds the {{tl|WikiProject Plants}} tag to most talk pages of articles within [[:Category:Plants]] and its subcategories for [[WPWikipedia:PLANTS|WikiProject Plants]] assessment. It will also be used to assess articles with the "class=Stub" parameter for articles within [[:Category:Plant stubs]] and [[:Category:Botany stubs]]. It may also be used in a similar capacity for the two WikiProject daughters of WikiProject Plants: [[WPWikipedia:CPS|WikiProject Carnivorous plants]] and [[WPWikipedia:BANKSIA|WikiProject Banksia]].

Just to be absolutely clear, what do you mean by "most" talk pages? —<span style="color: red;">[[User:Mets501|M<small>ETS</small>501]] ([[User talk:Mets501|talk]])</span> 01:59, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
:Most of the subcategories of [[:Category:Plants]] fall within the scope of [[WPWikipedia:PLANTS]] but a few do not, such as [[:Category:Synthetic resins]]. Obvious exceptions will be omitted. Questionable subcategories or individual articles within those subcategories will be initially omitted and discussed with members of [[WPWikipedia:PLANTS]] for inclusion in the tagging effort. Thanks for asking! --[[User:Rkitko|Rkitko]] 04:14, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
:Oh, and to clarify another question that might come up: When I say, "when tasks arise" I mean that if additional parameters are added to the {{tl|WikiProject Plants}} template like "photo needed", this bot could be used for those tagging purposes. No function will be beyond these templates for the above mentioned WikiProjects, though. If I find a use for the bot beyond the stated use, I will return here for an approval for the added function, of course. Thanks! --[[User:Rkitko|Rkitko]] 22:36, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

:62 articles within [[:Category:Polygonaceae]] have been tagged with <nowiki>{{WikiProject Plants|class=|importance=}}</nowiki>. See BotanyBot's [[Special:Contributions/BotanyBot|contribs]]. Everything went as planned. Thanks! --[[User:Rkitko|Rkitko]] 02:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
{{BotApproved}} Looks good. This bot shall run with a flag. —<span style="color: red;">[[User:Mets501|M<small>ETS</small>501]] ([[User talk:Mets501|talk]])</span> 03:41, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

*I hope the child projects are using the same template?
*Are you aware of my [[User:Kingbotk/P|templating plugin]] for AWB? The regexes are all prewritten for you and it doesn't mess up pre-existing templates. --[[User:Kingboyk|kingboyk]] 23:25, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
:The child projects use different templates. [[User:Hesperian]] and I discussed it and came up with the idea of having the templates for [[Wikipedia:CPS]] and [[Wikipedia:BANKSIA]] categorize the articles into [[Wikipedia:PLANTS]] categories as well (such that the class parameter would be the same but importance would be ranked-down: articles tagged for WP:CPS as mid-importance will be categorized into [[:Category:Mid-importance carnivorous plant articles]] and [[:Category:Low-importance plant articles]].) Since I'm a new user to AWB, I've been very careful about selectively avoiding the child project articles, which wasn't so difficult since I'm going of a fairly well-organized category. I'll look into your templating plugin. Thanks! --[[User:Rkitko|Rkitko]] <small>([[User talk:Rkitko|talk]])</small> 00:04, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
