Hi. Thanks for helping out on wikipedia. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. The reason I put the cleanup message on [[Alstonia]] was because its content to external links ratio was very low. Normally the external links for an article should just be a small section with links to related articles, insight, etc. The links that you put seemed appropriate, but when writing an article, it's preferable that you harvest information from those websites, and compile them in an article. However, make sure you don't _copy_ any information, or else it would be considered a copyright violation. If you don't have much time, then it's understandable, and you don't have to worry much about perfection. Just do the best you can, and if it still needs work, list it on [[Wikipedia:Cleanup]]. -[[User:Frazzydee|Frazzydee]] 05:00, 15 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I see that you are creating new pages with just external links. It is much better to put at least some information about the genus in the article. Then mention below <nowiki>{{ToLCleanup}}</nowiki>. This way, this will noted by someone else, who will step in and try to add some positive contribution to the article that you started. It is also always good to familiarize yourself with the 'rules' on the page [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Tree of Life]] and the discussion pages as well. As to the taxoboxes, we are just in a phase converting them from Html-tables into templates. Best thing you can do here is 'copy and paste' and adjust the names to your article.

Then, as user Frazzydee explains here just above, try to make an article and keep the external links to a minimum. Or try to reword the content of the external links into you own page under a subtitle such as 'Medicinal Uses'. Anyway, keep up the good works. We all had to learn. Hi, I removed the links from [[pellitory]] because they seemed likely to lead to dictionary type definitions, which should be in Wiktionary, rather than proper articles. My apologies if I made a wrong call on that, [[User:Jimfbleak|jimfbleak]] 05:20, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)

==Links at Fir==

I've removed these again, as they don't deal with [[fir]]s at all. I have placed them as relevant at [[Tsuga]] and [[Black Spruce]], though I don't really like them, as they use such woefully inaccurate scientific nomenclature and bad capitalisation, they won't help anyone and only serve to confuse. If you know the person(s) responsible for these websites, it would help if you could persuade them to correct their nomenclature ("Abies Canadensis" = ''Tsuga canadensis''; "Abies Nigra" = ''Picea mariana''; note also species names are always lower case). - [[User:MPF|MPF]] 09:22, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)
