Suburbs
First off, nice work on the suburb categories Shinjiman.

Google Search Link
I'd like to help you out with WikiProject Perth. You might have noticed that I started the list of Perth suburbs and created stubs for a lot of those suburbs, I just haven't had a chance (or the motivation) to create the rest. For information about the suburbs I've found DOLA, REIWA and the local councils websites have been useful, although I've still got to read the copyright info for DOLA. If you need assistance with anything please let me know, otherwise I'm going to continue adding suburbs. Meesham 09:42, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Please leave the finely tuned google links in place. Here's why: Any single link you include will not survive as owners of the Beck test are shutting down web sites. It's best to use the google search and let people find whatever happens to be available at the moment. Thanks for your cooperation!!! Cshay 23:36, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

Is there anyone have the comments about the Article naming for the suburbs? Seems some names are names as [Suburb A, Western Australia], but some of them are named [Suburb B, Australia] or [Suburb C]. Is that we need to unite them to a uniform naming conveetions?? :) Shinjiman 16:20, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

When I started adding some I only added Australia or Western Australia to disambig with other articles. Other editors have been changing some of them over to [Suburb, Western Australia], and for ones that I've been working on recently I've been changing them over to that format too. I think [Suburb, Western Australia] would be the best format, so that would be my vote. Meesham 16:38, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Support. :D Shinjiman 03:42, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

If we don't get any other responses in the next couple of days we should probably just go ahead with changing them, I've already been changing a couple as I go along.

I think South Perth is now a good example of what we should try to aim for for atleast the local council pages, maybe all of the suburb pages. This is thanks mainly to an anonymous user (203.59.82.69) who added a lot of the history, although finding history for the other suburbs will probably be difficult. The only thing that page is missing now in my opinion is a map of the area, showing the boundaries of the suburb and/or the local council. It could probably also do with a bit more information about the current state of South Perth, like popular areas etc (I'm not too sure, as I'm a northerner :) ) Meesham 10:32, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Hi guys, I've finally worked out how to contribute (I think I've got it right!) to this page. I only recently discovered the Wikipages and more as an experiment than deliberate intent, I decided to add some material to the South Perth page. Mainly this was because my Wife works for the City and I pick up lots of useful history and information. The COSP webpage has a lot of information about suburb and street name history; I know because I did a lot of web research for her at home. The pages are buried very deep in the website but are worth searching for. The REIWA website is singularly unhelpful. I've also done a bit on Waterford, for the same reasons as above, and also added some stuff about Dianella.

Stations
For currently, I have doing about the Train Stations and Bus Stations in Perth, which are provided by Transperth. Also, I have done about 3 Train Stations in Perth, but proposed to adding a infobox on the top right hand corner. The box at the bottom are created similar as WikiProject Melbourne. Hopfully can finished them soon. :-) --Shinjiman 12:57, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I just noticed that the midland and fremantle line stations are not showing up in the transperth catrgoy. Trisreed

Stations order
As the stations names are shown, which way to shown the direction from/to Perth is better?

;Using Perth at the center station order (Perth station at the top):
*Perth - Armadale
*Perth - Fremantle
*Perth - Joondalup
*Perth - Mandurah
*Perth - Midland

;Using track up-down order (Track-up station on the left and Track-down station on the right):
*Perth - Armadale
*Fremantle - Perth
*Perth - Joondalup
*Perth - Mandurah
*Perth - Midland

also, which way to shown the Thornlie Spur Line is better?
*Cannington - Thornlie (Logically connected adjecent stations, bypassing Beckenham)
*Beckenham - Thornlie (Physically connected adjacent stations)

Shinjiman ⇔ ♨ 11:34, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Use perth as the centre station, that's where it all starts. <s>and i prefer cannington-thornlie since that is how the train is going to stop.</s>

Sandstorm6299 13:08, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I take that back, i think revert to beckenham-thornlie (my bad, sorry), since that is the physical connection, but in the armadale line page, use the patterns to indicate no stopping at beckenham

~ Depot boxes is moved to below. ~

Also, the new station is opening sunday, so we can hopefully get a picture for it

Good job on the WikiProject, Shinjiman

Gonna to be rush
I will gonna to be rushing about those articles except Mandurah Line, and hopfully finishes in these one to two weeks. The progress becomes lots faster than before. --Shinjiman ⇔ ♨ 8 July 2005 14:30 (UTC)

Dash or Slash
According to the Armadale Line Timetable, the title used is [Armadale / Thornlie Line]; also in the Stopping Pattern in the Armadale Line Timetable, the word [Armadale - Thornlie Line] is used, also this is used on the display in the Perth Station platforms. So which form of display is more correct, a / or a - ??? --Shinjiman ⇔ ♨ 01:28, 6 August 2005 (UTC)

Right now, I think they are being treated as 2 separate lines: Armadale Line and Thornlie Line... it's just that they share the same stations all the way to Cannington, and they share the same colour code. I think it would be best to put Armadale/Thornlie Line, as that is what is printed on the front of the timetable, and also the Transperth website. But I think it might be best to wait until something official comes out. Oh and were you there at the Thornlie station opening ceremony this morning? Just wondering... Sandstorm6299 12:22, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

:Unfortunately, I am not at the Thornlie Station opening ceremony at this morning, but I think I may take a photograph of Thornlie Station in next morning, and upload that into here. :) --Shinjiman ⇔ ♨ 12:36, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

Depot boxes
~ Moved from above ~

Also, as the bus depots are mentioned in Path Transit and the train depots in Transperth Trains, maybe there could be a depot box? Trisreed 8:17, 6 Jul 2005 (UTC)

~ end moving ~

:We can do the infoboxes about the train/bus depots, seems the ___location of the train/bus depots are not very convinent for public transport routes, it's harder to take a photograph as like the stations. --Shinjiman ⇔ ♨ 16:00, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

Landmarks
Just an idea, that some comment should be made about the landmarks,
as otherwise outsiders might not have the faintest the barracks arch
or bell tower might really mean? vcxlor 07:32, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

Stations
Maybe you could add whether it is level, underground, or above ground station? Trisreed 05:21, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

:Well, at the moment, Subiaco is the only underground station (I think), and the new Mandurah rail line will be adding only 2 more (Esplanade and the Perth station's William Street underground platforms). The rest of the stations are ground-level so I don't think there is any point to it. Sandstorm6299 16:48, 17 August 2005 (UTC)

::I agree with Sandstorm's opinion. The underground station can be told in the contents of the page, no idea is that Joondalup Station is also a underground station? (remember sign your name using four tides after discussion) --Shinjiman ⇔ ♨ 01:32, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

Bus services
just a few issues to address

1. should we put all connecting bus services for all stations.. example: Oats Street is considered a station with connecting bus services (with bus stands) but Shinjiman has also put other routes which don't have an allocated official stand i.e. 282 and 283.. so should this be the case for all other stations? e.g. Kenwick is not officially a station with connecting bus services, but 220 passes by the station along Albany Highway

2. the Esplanade Busport page is in a mess, maybe putting all the bus stands in order, then showing which company owns which service by colour? like all sWAn Transit can be in orange, then Southern Coast Transit in red and Path Transit in green? Sandstorm6299 08:50, 27 August 2005 (UTC)

:1. It can put all bus connections in the page, But the stand listing is more clear in the article. And also we can put the connection in sentence for other connections. (mostly the stand details are obtained from online PDF timetables.)

:2. I agree with this opinion, see here for the contract areas between each contractors. --Shinjiman ⇔ ♨ 09:39, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
