'''Austin Chesterfield Clarke''' (born [[1934]]) is a [[Canada|Canadian]] [[novelist]] who lives in [[Toronto, Ontario]]. He was born and raised in [[Barbados]], moving to Canada in 1955 where he attended the [[University of Toronto]]. He was a reporter in Timmins and Kirkland Lake, before joining the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and eventually became a free-lance journalist.
