NPA article
The group tends to the marshal, and in the process, Jack discovers about Kate's past.

Hello.
The signal party returns down the mountain, but decides not to tell the others about the French transmission. When a fight breaks out over who should keep the gun, they agree to give it to Kate.

Myself and User:Cswrye are currently discussing rating an article within Wikiproject: Psychology - specifically NPA personality theory. Would it be possible for you to provide additional insight, as and when it is convenient? Thank you! :)-- D-Katana 13:58, 04 October 2006
In flashbacks, Kate is in Australia and is awakened by a farmer, Ray, who wants to know why she is sleeping in his barn. Using the pseudonym Annie, Kate is offered a job on the farm. When she later leaves the farm, she accepts a ride from Ray to the train station, but learns that he is planning on turning her in to the authorities for award money. When she sees the marshal driving behind them, she jerks the wheel and causes the vehicle to crash off the road. When trying to save Ray though, she loses her chance to escape.

Michael asks Walt about Locke, and then instructs his son to stay away from the man. Walt says that Locke's secret is that a miracle happened to him. Michael looks for the dog Vincent in the jungle and stumbles upon a topless Sun washing herself. Locke eventually finds the dog by using a dog whistle that he made, and the dog is returned to Walt.

The marshal's loud moans of pain take a toll on the group. He tells Jack he wants to speak to Kate alone. While she is in the tent, Hurley tells Jack that Kate has a gun. Jack sees Kate leave the tent, and the gun is fired. Sawyer walks out of the tent and says he did what had to be done. However, the cries continue. Jack throws an extremely shaken Sawyer out of the tent and, a few moments later, the moans stop.

In a flashback, Locke is at work in an office building playing a game of Risk during his lunch hour. His manager, Randy, taunts him when he discovers that Locke is going on an Australian walkabout, saying that there are things that Locke can't do in his condition. "Don't tell me what I can't do", Locke says angrily.

WiktionaryZ
At home in his studio apartment, Locke is talking to a woman named Helen on the phone. He invites her to go to the walkabout, but she declines and says that she does not meet customers. She then tells Locke that continuing the conversation will mean charging for another hour, but that he "can't afford it". He says he doesn't care about the money, but she hangs up on him. Locke angrily hangs up his phone.

Michael is injured while hunting, and Kate escorts him back to the beach. Along the way she climbs a tree to use the transceiver, but when she sees the monster she drops it, and the transceiver breaks. Locke has a close encounter with the monster. However, instead of running from it, he stands his ground.

At the beach the castaways are clearing supplies out of the fuselage. Claire decides to lead a memorial ceremony for the deceased passengers. Boone suggests that Jack talk to Rose, who has been somewhat distant since their arrival on the island. Rose tells Jack that her husband, who was in the tail section of the plane when it crashed, is still alive.

Hi Nightstallion,
Michael and Kate return to camp. Sayid is angry that Kate broke the transceiver. When she goes to tell Jack about Locke, Jack sees a man in a suit walk into the jungle. Jack chases after him and Kate follows. They find Locke with a slain wild boar.

I just noticed an anonymous user slightly changed the text of your vote at Talk:1 Ceres#Requested move from "minor planet" to "dwarf planet". Technically that's correct as 100,000+ asteroids are minor planets whereas there are only three dwarf planets. I almost reverted it as it doesn't seem good form to change people's text, but decided just to notify you instead and you can clarify if you like.
In a flashback, Locke is in Australia talking to one of the leaders on the walkabout. He refuses to let Locke come because of his condition, saying it's too big of a risk for the insurance company. As the man gets up to leave, Locke is revealed to be in a wheelchair. In a flashback to minutes after the crash, Locke is laying on his back in the sand. He wiggles his toes, then slowly and clumsily stands up.

A flashback shows a teenage Jack and a friend being beaten up. One bully gives Jack the chance to leave, but he decides to help his companion, causing him to be further assaulted. Joanna, one of the crash survivors, is drowning in the ocean. Boone swims out but can't reach her, and Jack rescues Boone. A flashback shows Sun at a party. Jin, a waiter, passes Sun a note telling her to meet him in private. Sun wants to run away with Jin, but he insists they tell her father that they are seeing each other.

There is some confusion in the phase 4 vote (in my head at least). When voting for a design, one votes for more than one instance, since there are multiple options, especially for the "A" design. As example say A13 and B1 are liked the most. Then even if less people like option A13 compared to B1, by adding votes for the other A designs, B may have less votes than A in the end. This may be in contradiction to the "will of the electors". Did I miss something? Awolf002 23:09, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Jack, Kate, Charlie and Locke go to the caves. Jin attacks Michael for no apparent reason. Sawyer and Sayid handcuff Jin to the wreckage. Michael says the attack was racially motivated. At the caves they discover two bodies, whom Locke dubs "Adam and Eve". Jack estimates that they have been dead for 40&ndash;50 years, and finds a pouch on them containing two stones: one black, the other white.
:There are no different designs in this phase any longer. These are just different versions of the same basic design, which will have to be changed not to use Wikimedia colours, anyway; after every logo vote, the chosen logo was refined even more before it was made the new logo. I doubt there are many people who prefer a special version of A over a special version of B, but not all of them; maybe I'm wrong in that, though. &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 10:28, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

The next flashback takes place several years earlier. Sun secretly plots to leave Jin and her father, so she will be free to go wherever she wants. On the island, Sun finds Michael alone, and in perfect, unbroken English says, "I need to talk to you." Michael is shocked that she speaks English. Sun tells him that Jin is unaware of this. She explains that Jin angrily attacked Michael because of the watch he's wearing, which belongs to her father. Michael says he found it in the wreckage.
I found your post on the federacy talk to border Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Because actually I have delved deep into the issue of assymmetric federalism and federacies (I finished my bachelor of arts in political science cum laude at Leiden University this September on basis of thesis concerning Comparative federalism that scored 9/10). I can give you references for all the statements I've made there.

I have decided not to reply on the articles talk because the discussion was going no where. Whether passer-by was right or me, would not have mattered for the article. Passer by expected me to defend a concept used by political scientists in scientific works. On wikipedia that is the defense, we are not supposed to critically reflect on concepts ourselves. At the caves, Locke tells Charlie that he knows Charlie is addicted to heroin. Locke says if Charlie gives up his drugs, the island will give him his guitar, which he misses deeply. Locke finds the guitar, and Charlie is ecstatic. On the beach, Kate refuses to go with Jack to the caves. Michael approaches Jin with an axe and cuts him free. However, one of the cuffs remains on his wrist. He returns the watch and tells Jin to stay away from him and Walt.

::Because a) it is debatable whether Austria functions like a federation (see Erk, J., “Austria: A Federation without Federalism” in Publius (2004) 34:1, pp.1-20) and b) because according to classic texts like Wheare (Federal Government, 1954), in federations (the term "pure" federations is not scientific) states should have equal representation in the higher house, which Austria lacks, because Laender have unequal representations in the Bundesrat. If there is unequal representation that is a sign that some states are more powerful than others. C mon 20:15, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
A flashback shows Sun at the airport about to leave Jin forever. However, she can't do it, and boards the doomed flight with her husband. That night at the caves, Charlie plays his guitar as Jack returns with people from the beach.

:::Mh. Isn't b) debatable, though? I have not studied political sciences yet (I'll get Mathematics and Linguistics out of the way first <tt>;)</tt>), but it would appear logical to me that there would be a set of different ways of defining the upper house which would be equivalent in their "federation-ness"... Regarding a), it may not *always* function as a federation de facto, but with the coming state reform, it's likely to get the de facto situation more in line with what should be happening de iure. (Apart from that, de facto the influence of the local branches of Austria's two large parties in the national parties is very strong -- if that isn't federal... <tt>;)</tt>) Again, sorry for appearing PA-y, it wasn't intended. &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 20:21, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Four and a half months after the article is created, I'm still not sure it's worth keeping around. The term federacy as used in the article seems to be a specific meaning used only by Elazar and a few other political scientists who cite Elazar heavily. I don't know how big the field of comparitive federalism actually is, but I don't see any evidence that the rest of the profession accepts Elazar's definition of the word. In searching for occurences of "federacy", I find the Federacy article, some papers by (or quoting) Elazar, and a number of definitions and articles where it is used as a shorthand for "confederacy".

When Jack upsets Charlie by telling him to move his luggage, Charlie confronts him in a cave. Charlie’s shouting causes the entrance to the cave collapse. Charlie escapes, but Jack is trapped inside.

Hi Nightstallion.
Using his construction experience, Michael leads the rescue attempt. In the jungle, Sawyer goes to warn Kate about Jack, but decides against it because he doesn’t like Kate’s attitude. Charlie tells Locke about Jack. Charlie asks for his drugs a second time, so Locke shows him a moth cocoon. Locke explains that he could help the moth by slitting the cocoon, but it would not survive. Instead, the moth needs to struggle to break free. Nature and struggle make people stronger, indicating to Charlie that he needs to fight through his suffering.

I just noticed this article and I'd like your opinion on its notability. I've removed a dead IW links to the Danish Wikipedia, and, well, it is pretty obvious who created this content. Do you think he's notable or not? My first hunch would say no, since I have never heard this party referred to at all in Denmark, which is apparently home of the party HQ [probably his own house]. Then again, in a Danish context, I presume the party could be compared to the Socialist Youth Front in terms of notability, but I'm not sure Mr. Paasovaara is notable as such (yet?). Thoughts? Kate and Sawyer stay at the second triangulation point, while Sayid goes to the third point. Sawyer tells Kate about Jack, and she runs back to the caves. Charlie squeezes through an opening at the cave and finds Jack. A flashback shows Charlie finding Liam high on heroin with groupies. Charlie kicks them out, and tells Liam that he’s done with the band. Liam says no, causing Charlie to use heroin for the first time. Years later, Charlie visits Liam's house in Australia and wants him to rejoin Drive Shaft for their comeback tour. Liam refuses, but they can’t do it without him. He criticizes Charlie for still using, and Charlie blames Liam for getting him started with drugs. Charlie angrily leaves, and says he has a plane to catch.

After resetting Jack’s shoulder, they dig out of the cave. Jack confronts Charlie about using drugs, and reassures him that it’ll be okay. Before Sayid is able to triangulate the signal someone knocks him out.

I have done a major update on Austrian schilling. And I found the National Bank used öS for the symbol in the past.If you're interested, please review. There are some things I'm not so sure of. Most of the time the reverse side is the side that has value, and obverse is the side that has emphasis on the symbol of the state (according to obverse and reverse). So I don't know what to make of the 1 Schilling coin, which has the state title and value on the same side. I currently put that side as obverse, but the National Bank arrange the images as if that side reverse. And I can't look up who are on the 5 and 10 Schilling coins. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 15:18, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

While conducting his census, Hurley talks to Ethan Rom, who seems concerned about giving his information to Hurley. Jack suggests to Claire that she wasn't attacked and offers her a sedative. Claire angrily leaves the caves to move to the beach.

Claire returns to the psychic and asks him for another reading. He automatically knows that Thomas left her and warns her that what he sees may not be pleasant. He says that Claire must raise the baby by herself, and that if it is parented by anyone else it will be in danger. The psychic repeatedly calls Claire, and she tells him she’s going to an adoptive services agency.

Boone tells Hurley that Sawyer has the flight manifest, and that could help him take the census. Sawyer surprisingly gives it to Hurley without any objection. While Charlie is trying to help Claire move back to the beach, she starts having contractions. Charlie says he can deliver the baby, but after accidentally confessing to Claire that he’s a recovering drug addict, she yells at him to get Jack, leaving her alone in the jungle.

In a flashback, Claire is about to sign papers so a married couple could adopt her baby. However, none of the pens she tries works. After thinking it over, she walks out on the adoption agency, and goes to the psychic. He gives her $6,000 and a ticket on Flight 815 and says a couple in Los Angeles will adopt the baby and give her an additional $6,000.

* The NovelsInCompleteInfobox has been regenerated at the start of October and was shown to have grown rather than shrunk! So this month I have concentrated my efforts (with some help from Grey Shadow) on the novels missing "genre" tags. These "genre-less" have now "all" been dealt with. Hopefully we can break the back of this load of work, but it will need help. It would be nice to get these worklists to a state where they can monitor the newly created articles rather than cleaning the retrospective material.

Charlie finds Ethan and tells him that Claire is in labor and to get Jack. Charlie goes back to comfort Claire, who tells him the story about the psychic. Charlie suggests that the psychic knew the flight was going to crash, and this was his way of forcing Claire to raise the baby. Claire stops having contractions. A badly wounded Sayid returns to camp and tells the others about Danielle, and that other people are on the island. Just as Hurley reveals that one of the survivors is not listed on the flight manifest, Ethan ominously accosts Claire and Charlie in the jungle.

Hi. I couldn't figure out how to leave a comment or edit the HDI page and I don't have time to learn right now, but I did want to point out to someone that it appears to me that Australia is colored dark brown on the HDI map, ie, very low human development, rock bottom. I'm no map whiz and for a second I was wondering what the hell country that big island was
At the caves, Hurley continues trying to explain that one survivor (Ethan) is not in the passenger manifest. Jack asks where he is and Michael says that he went to the jungle to get some wood. Jack then begins asking where Charlie is; Locke replies that he went after Claire. The scene then cuts to Jack and Locke running through the jungle until they find what we know to be their last position. They find three distinct footprint sets and realize that Charlie and Claire have been taken. As Jack begins shouting their names, Locke motions for him to be quiet. The hunt is on.
because I knew it couldn't be Aussie with it's super-high HDI.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Human_Development_Index#Low
Locke says that they should go back and return with a hunting party. However, Jack decides to start off alone.

Thanks for all the great work you people do. I always love when The Goggle drives me through The Internets over to The Wiki.
A flashback shows Jack operating on a woman. Despite his attempts, the woman's heartbeat goes flatline and he begins giving CPR even though it is hopeless. His father, Dr. Christian Shepard, tells him to call it.

cheers,
Back at the island, Jack, Kate, Locke, and Boone set off to find their companions. Following their footsteps, the group eventually finds one of Charlie's knuckle bandages. Jack and Kate go off to follow Charlie's bandages while Locke and Boone continue on the original trail. Boone begins putting pieces of his red shirt on trees and explains to Locke the concept of the "redshirt" from Star Trek.

tribalecho
A flashback shows Christian telling Jack to report that the woman was pregnant. Christian requests that he sign a form which will officially state that her death was an accident. He also says that "if the hospital board finds out, it will end his career".

:I don't see the problem you mention; Australia has always been coloured dark green, as it should be... Good to know you enjoy Wikipedia! I certainly do, too. <tt>:)</tt> &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 20:10, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Still on the bandage trail, Kate begins telling Jack that they should return to the beach. Shortly afterwards, they hear Claire screaming. Jack goes off on his own, but he is then quickly subdued by Ethan. He threatens to kill one of them if Jack does not stop following them.

Sorry. Maybe it's the angle of my light. Australia doesn't look the same color as North America on my screen, but brown or black. Well, my best friend has told me for years that something's not the color I thought it was. Maybe she's onto something.
Flashback: At a board meeting, Jack tells the board that his father was operating under the influence; this impaired his judgment and led to the chain of events causing the woman's death.

:No harm done, but I am positively certain that everything's in order with that particular map. If you find anything else that seems wrong to you, feel free to point it out or even correct it yourself, though! You might also think about getting an account -- it's free and offers a number of benefits. &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 10:25, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
On the island, Kate finds Jack on the ground. Pushing on, they find Charlie, blindfolded and hanging from a tree. After Kate cuts him down, Jack begins giving CPR. She begins saying that it's a lost cause, but he does not give up. After four powerful thrusts, Charlie wakes up. Returning to the caves, Charlie says that he did not see or hear anything and that "all they wanted was Claire".

Meanwhile, deep in the jungle, Boone begins wanting to go back. Locke finally lets him go and tosses Boone his flashlight. He fails to catch it and it lands on the ground...with a loud metal "clank". Moving to investigate, they find steel imbedded in the ground. Locke begins banging on the metal, which appears to be hollow, and they begin removing mud to find out what it is.

While swimming, Kate and Sawyer find a locked case among the sunken wreckage. Kate wants it, but refuses to tell Sawyer what's inside, so he takes it. At the beach, the tide is rising and will soon submerge the fuselage. Shannon asks Boone what he and Locke do every day, and Boone replies that they're looking for Claire.

Dear Nightstallion,
Sayid asks Shannon to help him translate Rousseau's notes. Rose comforts Charlie by telling him that what happened to Claire isn't his fault and he did everything he could. Sawyer tries to pick the lock on the case, but Michael tells him the only way to open it is with pure force. Sawyer drops the case off a cliff, and it still doesn't open. Kate swipes it, but Sawyer gets it back. He tells her that he will give the case to her if she tells him what's inside. She refuses.
You removed "merge" tag. But the name of article is not suitable. "Next" makes no sense. After this "Next" election(2-3 months later) how we may call this article,"Old" or something else. Maybe it is suitable by the name of year,ie; 2006 elections, 2010 elections etc. Think about that.

Linguistics
In a flashback, Kate is in New Mexico, opening a bank account using an alias. Three masked men enter and attempt to rob the bank. One of them pulls Kate into a back room and they share a kiss, revealing that Kate is a part of the robbery. The man smacks Kate to make it look like she's an innocent civilian. Kate admits her involvement in the robbery to stop her (presumed) boyfriend from hurting the bank manager. She then demands that he give her a key to a specific safety deposit box--the true reason for the robbery.

Just out of curiosity what do you believe you would get out of a linguistics degree (you say on your userpage that you are considering getting one)? A job? The only job I can think of for a person with a linguistics degree is translator, and perhaps researcher. (Not being hostile, just interested) PS: evil-plans.txt can now be found here, the link on your userpage doesn't work. +Hexagon1 (t) 04:43, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Kate goes to Jack and says the case contains weapons. It belonged to the U.S. Marshal and the key is buried with him. They dig up the body and Kate pulls out his wallet. Before giving it to Jack, she palms the key, but he catches her. Sayid becomes impatient with Shannon when her translations do not make any sense. Upset, Shannon runs away saying that she's useless. Jack gives Sawyer an ultimatum: if he does not hand over the case, Jack will stop giving him antibiotics for his knife wound. This has the desired effect.

In a flashback, one of the robbers tells the manager that the whole thing was Kate's idea. However, she shoots the felons and tells the manager to open the safety deposit box # 815 (same as the Oceanic flight number). At the caves, Jack and Kate open the case. There are guns inside, and a manila envelope, which Jack gives to Kate. She opens it and pulls out a toy airplane. When pressured, Kate says it belonged to the man she loved &mdash; and killed. She then cries, but receives no sympathy from Jack.

Typhoon Xangsane, known as Typhoon Milenyo in the Philippines was a destructive typhoon that affected the Philippines and Indochina. The storm caused severe flooding and landslides in the regions it affected and was responsible for at least 279 deaths and $747 million (USD) in damage, mostly in the Philippines and Vietnam. Xangsane formed to the east of the Philippines and rapidly intensified, striking Samar Island as a Category 4 typhoon. It weakened over the Philippines, but again reached Category 4 strength in the South China Sea. After its landfall in Vietnam, the typhoon dissipated, with its remnant crossing Indochina and entering the Bay of Bengal.

*One hurricane, Hurricane Paul, formed in the eastern Pacific and hit Mexico. There were also two tropical storms, Norman and Olivia, and two tropical depressions in the basin.
*In addition to Typhoon Xangsane, two further typhoons and two tropical storms developed in the west Pacific. Typhoon Soulik and Tropical Storms Bebinca and Rumbia both stayed clear of land, whilst Typhoon Cimaron hit the Philippines killing at least 19 people there, before it dissipated in the South China Sea.
*The North Indian Ocean saw one storm, Cyclonic Storm Ogni form in the Bay of Bengal.
*The 2006-2007 Southern Hemisphere tropical cyclone season got underway, with Tropical Cyclone Xavier forming to the west of Fiji. There were two further tropical depressions in the South Pacific and a tropical disturbance in the South Indian Ocean.

Tropical cyclone scales

The various agencies which report on tropical cyclones use a variety of different scales to measure the storms strength. The most familiar of these is the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale and this is the de facto standard in the project and should be used everywhere. However, as it is only official in the Atlantic and East Pacific, other local scales should be used when discussing storms in other regions and given primacy over the Saffir-Simpson Scale. The Saffir-Simpson scale is based on 1-minute averages, but other scales are generally based upon 10-minute averages, which are approximately 15% lower.
In a flashback, Shannon calls Boone and asks him to come to Sydney. When he gets there he sees that her boyfriend, Brian, has been beating her. Boone reports this to the police, and reveals that Shannon is his stepsister. The detective ignores Boone, so he offers Brian $50,000 to break up with Shannon.

This table provides a useful-at-a-glance comparison of the various scales currently in use. Further complications arise due to the fact different agencies obtain different estimates for the same storm at the same time, so be careful to use the most appropriate source agency.
Boone explains to Locke that he is tired of lying, and wants to tell Shannon about the hatch. Locke responds by knocking him unconscious with the butt of his knife. Boone awakes to find himself tied up. Locke puts the paste on his head and leaves a knife embedded in the ground several feet in front of Boone so he'll be able to free himself. Locke explains that he will be able to reach it once he is properly motivated. After several unsuccessful attempts to do so, Boone hears Shannon's screams and the sound of the monster approaching. This is the impetus he needs, and after a short struggle he is finally able to reach the weapon. He then releases himself and searches for his sister.

Sun reveals to Kate that she speaks English, and asks her not to tell anyone. Sun took English lessons in Korea, but doesn't want Jin to know. Locke finds Sayid trying to make sense of Rousseau's maps, and gives him a compass. Boone runs through the jungle, and locates Shannon tied to a tree. She screams for Boone, telling him to untie her. This he does, and they run through the jungle together, away from the monster.

Sayid tells Jack that according to Locke's compass, north is not where it should be, causing him to believe that the instrument is defective. Jack finds Locke and asks him about Boone. Locke says he hasn't seen his acolyte all day, and the boars are migrating outside of their valley. Hurley and Jin spend the day fishing, and when Hurley fails to catch anything, Jin gives him a fish out of sympathy.

In a flashback, Shannon refuses to leave with Boone. He realizes that Shannon lied to him to get the money, and she has done this before. Brian says that Boone's mother stole money away from her, and she is getting what is rightfully hers. That night, a drunken Shannon comes to Boone's hotel room and tells him that Brian stole the money. She tells Boone that she knows he loves her, and they sleep together.

Boone tells Shannon about the hatch right before the monster attacks them again, this time while they are hiding in a clump of trees. It takes Shannon, and Boone later finds her mutilated body by a creek. That night Boone tries to kill Locke, screaming that he had killed his sister, but Locke reveals that Shannon is alive. The paste caused Boone to have a vision that was crucial to his survival. Boone says seeing Shannon dead made him feel relieved. Locke says to come with him. The two disappear into the jungle.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

Reply on question about Thai succession
Michael proposes that everyone helps build a raft, but no one thinks that it is a plausible idea. Michael later tells Walt to help him build the raft. Angry with Michael, Walt runs off with Vincent. Michael accuses Locke of turning Walt against him, and thinks Locke is hiding Walt. When Locke says he does not know where Walt is, both he and Michael track Walt in the jungle.

Flashbacks show that Michael and Walt's mother, Susan, were unmarried. When Walt was a few months old, Susan took a job in Amsterdam and took Walt with her. She married Brian, a co-worker, when Walt was two, and their work took them to Australia. Michael didn't see his son again until after Susan's death from a blood disorder. Brian gave Michael custody of Walt and warned Michael that Walt is 'different'. Walt is shown to have psychic tendencies. As a child in Australia, Walt opens one of his books to a picture of a native bird and shortly afterwards the bird fatally slams into a nearby window.

Charlie awakens to see Locke carrying Claire to Jack. Claire awakens and panics, asking, “Who are you people?”. Claire claims that the last thing she can remember is the flight. Jack tells her about the crash, and Charlie brings her diary and makes conversation with her. In the first flashback, we see Charlie and his friend Tommy using heroin, but in need of money to buy more. They then walk into a bar where Tommy points out to Charlie a girl named Lucy, and tells Charlie that her father is rich. Charlie walks over and makes conversation with Lucy.

Charlie meets Jin in the jungle, and walks with him until Jin is hit by a rock from a sling. Ethan appears and tells Charlie that he must bring Claire to him and that he will kill one of the castaways for every day that Charlie does not. Charlie returns to the beach and tells Jack and Locke of Ethan’s threat. Locke suggests that they set up alarms around the perimeter using string and weights.

Claire expresses discomfort to Charlie about the way people treat her, and asks Charlie if there is “anything going on”. Charlie assures her that there isn’t. In the next flashback, we see Charlie in Lucy’s home. Lucy shows him a cigarette case once owned by Winston Churchill. When Charlie asks, she mentions that her father is out, "probably buying a paper company in Slough", a reference to the hit British comedy "The Office", of which JJ Abrams is a fan. We then see Charlie eating dinner with Lucy and her father. He tells her father that Driveshaft is “dead”. Charlie later tells Tommy that he accepted a job working for Lucy’s father selling copy machines. Tommy reminds Charlie of their addiction.

An alarm awakens Boone. He, Sayid and Jack rush to the tripped string only to find that Vincent (Walt’s dog) has tripped the alarm. They hear screaming and return to the beach to find Scott murdered. Claire finds out about Ethan’s threat and becomes angry with Charlie for lying. In the next flashback, we see Charlie steal the cigarette case that belonged to Winston Churchill.

Jack and Locke debate what to do next, and Jack shows Locke the case of guns. They decide to lure Ethan with Claire. Charlie protests. We see a flashback in which Charlie attempts to demonstrate a copy machine, but vomits due to heroin withdrawal. Jack, Locke, Sawyer, Kate, Sayid and Claire go into the jungle. Charlie follows them. Ethan comes for Claire, and Jack wrestles him to the ground but loses his gun in the process. Sawyer then holds a gun to Ethan. Charlie comes from behind with Jack’s gun and kills Ethan. Charlie tells Jack that Ethan “deserved to die”. In the final flashback, we see Charlie trying to apologize to Lucy after going through heroin withdrawal at work. Lucy tells him that she understands why he stole, but asks him why he took the job. Charlie tells her that he wanted to show that he could take care of her, and Lucy tells him that he will never take care of anyone. The episode ends with Claire telling Charlie that she "wants to trust him".

Sawyer has a nightmare about the night, as a child, he was told by his mother to hide under his bed while she went to the door to tell his father to leave. His father forced his way into the house, killed his mother, sat on the bed Sawyer was hiding under, and kills himself. Sawyer wakes up to find a giant boar in front of him and it attacks his tent and runs away into the trees, taking Sawyer's tarp with it. Sawyer chases after it, and while he is in the jungle he hears whispering. A louder whisper says "It'll come back around".
| style="border: 1px gray solid; padding: 1em; width: 65%; vertical-align: top;" |

; Issue of the Month
In the morning Sawyer talks to Sayid about the voices Sayid heard while he was in the jungle some time before, and when Sayid asks why he wants to know, Sawyer replies, "No reason." In a flashback a former associate tells Sawyer that the real Sawyer who ruined his life as a child is now living under the alias Frank Duckett in Australia. He travels there, buys a gun and goes to the shrimp shop where Duckett works. He chats with him briefly, but doesn't kill him. On the island, Sawyer is obsessed with finding the boar that attacked him and goes into the jungle with Kate to find it. The next morning the two of them wake up to find that Sawyer's belongings have been ruined while Kate's remain untouched. Locke says that his sister died very young and that their foster mother blamed herself, suffering a severe depression. But a few months later, a dog came into the house, without tags or collar, and his mother felt much better. The dog slept in his sister's room, but when his mother died years later the dog vanished.

Again, the issue of the month is inline citations. A Day in the Life, A Hard Day's Night (song), and Get Back have all been defeatured, as they failed to satisfy criterion 1(c) of What is a featured article?, and other song FAs are due for the chopping block. Inline citations are an important aspect of articles—they ensure verifiability and reliability, and they remove original research. Additionally, they give readers the option to read the original source material and view it within context.
In a flashback Sawyer goes to an Australian bar and meets Jack's father, Christian Shephard. Christian tells Sawyer that some people are meant to suffer, and "that's why the Red Sox will never win the damn Series." He says that he wishes he had the strength to call his son, say how proud he is of him, and "fix everything", but he is too weak to do it. Christian tells Sawyer to fix the thing that’s making him feel bad. Sawyer shoots Frank Duckett, but Frank denies being the real Sawyer, and he tells Sawyer that this will come back to haunt him.

Basically:
Sawyer catches up to the boar and decides not to kill it. He gives Jack his gun. Now all the firearms are with Jack, who locks them back in the marshal's case. They start to talk, and Jack says "that's why the Sox will never win the Series." Sawyer does not tell Jack that he met Christian.
# All direct quotations attributed to Beatles members pooled from interviews need full inline citations.
# All critical comments about songs or albums need full inline citations to notable music critics, magazines opinions, or reviews, as opposed to being merely comments by Wikipedians.
# Inline citations need: author name, article name, publication date, and name of publication. Such info is still preferable even if quoting from an interview posted upon a website; when this is the case, place the URL link at the end of the citation with the date it was last accessed. (This will help editors retrieve the page using the Wayback Machine, should the link go dead in the future.)

In Flashbacks, Jin visits Sun's father to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage. Mr. Paik interviews Jin, asking him about his dreams and his family. Jin states that he would like to own his own restaurant and hotel, and that his father is deceased, as well as tells Mr. Paik that he would do anything for Sun. Mr. Paik asks him if he would work for his car company, to which Jin immediately responds in the affirmative. Mr. Paik asks why he should allow his daughter to marry someone who would throw his dreams away so easily. Jin tells him that Sun is his dream. The flashback then cuts to Jin and Sun sharing a romantic moment. When asked about taking a honeymoon, Jin tells Sun that they will be able to go after he does some management training. Jin is later promoted and Mr. Paik assigns him to go to Mr. Byung Han's house and deliver a message. He goes to Mr. Han's house and tells Mr. Han that Mr. Paik is unhappy with him. As a way to make Mr. Paik happy Mr. Han gives Jin a puppy, the same dog seen earlier in Sun's flashbacks. Mr. Han's daughter is incidentally watching Hurley on television.

The flashback cuts to Sun preparing a candlelit dinner for her husband. After being interupted by phone call from Mr. Paik, Jin goes to see him. Mr. Paik's factory has been closed, he says, so Jin has not delivered the message properly. He sends Jin, along with an alarming mercenary companion, back to Mr. Han's house. Before the other man could kill Mr. Han, Jin wildly beats him up, telling him in the end that the factories must open tomorrow and that he just saved his life. Then Jin looks at the scared family and leaves. Again, we see Jin washing blood from his hands in the bathroom and Sun slapping him, but this is followed by a part of this scene we have not seen before: Jin crying for what he has been forced to do. He goes to visit his father, who is still alive and working as a fisherman and helps him work, apologizing for being ashamed of his family. They talk about Sun and Jin's marital difficulties. In the end, Jin's father tells him to go to America with Sun to start a new life.

On the island, Jin sees Sun in a swimsuit and tries to cover her up and Michael tries to stop him but gets slapped by Sun. Jin later asks if she is involved with Michael and she says no. Sun later apologizes to Michael for slapping him. Shannon and Sayid flirt, while Michael works on the raft. Jack comes over and asks about the spots on the raft and Sawyer says that he got one. At night the raft is on fire and they all blame Jin. Sun then finds Jin covered with burns and he does not speak to her. Later, Sayid asks Boone for permission to date Shannon and Boone tells him that she might use him. Sayid tells Shannon that it might not be a good idea for them to date.

The next morning, Sawyer brings Jin to the beach and Michael and Jin fight. Sun then tells him to stop and that Jin did not burn the raft. Also, Locke asks why Walt burned the raft and he says that he doesn’t want to move anymore, that he likes it on the island.

The episode begins with Hurley approaching Sayid at night and asking about Rousseau. Hurley pretends not to be interested, but takes Rousseau's documents when Sayid is not looking. Before the crash, Hurley had won a lottery jackpot of $156 million using the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 &mdash; figures written on one of the purloined papers. Hurley then goes to the caves to gather water and encounters Charlie, but does not tell him where he is going. Soon after Hurley leaves, Jack and Sayid arrive in the caves and ask Charlie about Hurley, after which the three of them conclude that he went to find Rousseau.

| rowspan="2" style="border: 1px gray solid; padding: 1em; vertical-align: top;" |
In the flashbacks, Hurley and the people around him seemed to suffer increasingly bad luck after he had won the lottery. For example, Hurley’s grandfather suffered a heart attack, his mother broke her ankle and Hurley himself was falsely arrested. He visits a mental asylum where he apparently resided for a time, and consults a man named Lenny who keeps repeating the numbers. After hearing that Hurley used the numbers in the lottery, Lenny becomes panicked and starts shouting, "The numbers are bad! You gotta get away from them!" He gives Hurley the name of Sam Toomey, a man with whom Lenny claims to have worked, and who lives in Australia. Hurley visits Toomey’s house, which is located in a desert. He encounters the man's wife and learns that Toomey is dead. His widow explains that while monitoring radio signals for the military, Sam and Lenny picked up a faint transmission in the South Pacific broadcasting the numbers. Hurley learns that Sam had several experiences with the numbers similar to his own and eventually committed suicide.

Hurley desperately searches the jungle, following the same cable that Sayid had found. While walking, he steps on a button. Sayid, Jack, and Charlie then emerge from the jungle. Sayid tells Hurley not to move off the button because it is a booby trap. Hurley avoids it by stepping off the trigger anyway and jumping to avoid a falling log. He tells the group that he is trying to find Rousseau to obtain a battery for Michael's raft. They continue through the jungle, coming to a small canyon spanned by a dilapidated bridge. Hurley and Charlie use it to cross, after which it breaks. Now separated, both parties search for a way around the canyon. Jack and Sayid set off a trap that causes an explosion, destroying Rousseau's old shelter. Sayid concludes that Rousseau knew he'd come back, and was prepared for them.

Now walking through the jungle, Hurley and Charlie are shot at. They get split up, and Hurley runs into Rousseau. Despite being held at gunpoint, he demands to know what the numbers mean. Rousseau explains to him that she does not know: only that a radio tower was broadcasting the numbers when her party found the island, which lured them towards it. When they tried to come ashore, their ship was destroyed by underground rocks. After the rest of her team was killed, she went to the tower and changed the signal to a distress call. Hurley and Rousseau conclude that the numbers are cursed, and Hurley finds Sayid, Jack and Charlie, giving them a battery he got from Rousseau. After they return to the beach, Hurley tells Charlie about his lottery win, but Charlie thinks he is joking and becomes angry. The final shot reveals the numbers engraved on the side of the hatch.

; From the Editors
On the island, Locke and Boone build a trebuchet in an effort to break open the hatch windows. When this fails, an exasperated Locke pounds the hatch, before Boone notices a shard in Locke’s leg; Locke mentions he feels no pain, and discovers that night that he’s losing feeling in his legs.

Wherever possible, editors should help to trim down on list-like prose within Beatles articles. They should convert list-like sections into fluent, cohesive prose which ties an article's sections together. Lists make articles disjointed, awkward, and difficult to read.
That night, in a dream, Locke tells Boone that the island will send them a sign, at which point he notices a Beechcraft 18 crash in the jungle. The dream also reveals a secret about Boone. Awaking early the next day, Locke and Boone head out in search of the aircraft. When Boone doubts him, Locke mentions the secret he learned from his dream, leading Boone to follow Locke on the hunt. After some searching, they discover the plane teetering on the edge of a cliff. Locke, having lost use of his legs, asks Boone to climb up to check the plane. While in the plane, Boone discovers a trove of statues filled with heroin, the body of a priest, and a working radio. Using this radio, Boone sends out a distress call. In response, a male voice answers, "Is someone out there?" to which Boone responds, "We are the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815." He hears the reply, "We are the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815." At this point the teetering plane falls over the cliff. Frantically, Locke struggles to his feet, hoists a critically injured Boone on his shoulders and returns to the camp.

Meanwhile, Sawyer is having increasingly painful headaches, which are not helped by Sun's herbal remedies. Kate convinces Sawyer to accept Jack's medical assistance. After an exam, Jack explains that Sawyer is suffering from hyperopia or farsightedness, and his excessive reading is straining his eyes, giving him headaches. To solve the problem, Sayid melds together the halves of two pairs of glasses for Sawyer to use.

In flashbacks, a younger Locke meets a mysterious woman in the discount superstore in which he works. After an initial meeting, Locke later notices this same woman watching him in the store. When he chases after to confront her, she explains that she is his birth mother, Emily Locke. When Locke asks about his father, Emily explains that Locke doesn’t have a father. Undeterred, Locke hires a private investigator who finds Locke’s father, Anthony Cooper. When Locke travels to his father’s affluent home, he is welcomed with open arms. One day, Locke arrives at the home early, and notices his father on dialysis, which eventually prompts Locke to offer one of his kidneys to save his father. After the surgery, Locke wakes up in the hospital to find that his father has gone home for private care. Emily arrives to explain that all this was a scheme to get Anthony a kidney. Devastated, Locke pulls himself out of the hospital bed and drives to his father's home, where he is turned away. While driving away, Locke breaks down over the betrayal.

Locke comes to the caves with Boone, and tells Jack that he fell from a cliff while they were hunting. Jack springs into action but Locke disappears into the jungle. That evening, Locke returns to the hatch. Pounding on the door and screaming in anguish atop the hatch, Locke laments what has happened, when the inside of the hatch suddenly becomes illuminated.

Kate makes her way to the beach, and claims Sawyer’s alcohol. As she runs back to the caves, she discovers that Claire has gone into labor. Jack determines that Boone needs a blood transfusion, and sends Charlie off to find someone with a matching blood type. When he returns unsuccessful, Jack decides that he will have to give his blood, which is the universal donor type O-. However, when Jack begins looking for something with which he can draw blood, he becomes frustrated. Fortunately, Sun comes up with a solution and retrieves a sea urchin, whose hollow, sharp spines enable Jack to begin the transfusion.

Meanwhile, back at the beach, Jin is working on the new raft, when he hears Kate's call for help from within the jungle, and rushes to her and Claire. Despite the language barrier, Kate is able to tell Jin to go and find Jack. Jin rushes to the caves only to find Jack occupied with the blood transfusion, but, through Sun, is able to convey that Claire is giving birth. Jack tells Jin, again through Sun, to take Charlie to Kate and Claire. Jack then gives Charlie instructions on how to deliver the baby, but warns him that the delivery is in Kate’s hands.

As night falls, Boone wakes up momentarily. During this brief period, he mentions the plane and the hatch, and that Locke had wanted the hatch kept secret. When Sun sees that he looks weak and pale, she stops the transfusion. When Jack then examines Boone, however, he determines that the transfusion is not working, since the blood is all pooling in Boone’s crushed leg, which is more damaged than he’d initially suspected. Jack determines that the only way to save Boone is the amputation of the leg, prompting Jack to seek Michael’s assistance in constructing an amputation device.

Kate attempts to take care of Jack, who stubbornly insists he needs to deal with Locke. Realizing he’d probably try this, Kate drugs Jack and he falls asleep, leaving Sayid free to deal with Locke. Sayid arrives at the caves and begins questioning Locke, asking Locke to show him the Beechcraft. As they walk to it, Sayid interrogates Locke, who realizes just what Sayid is doing. Upon arriving at the plane, their cat and mouse game escalates. Sayid tells Locke he knows Locke has a gun, and Locke hands it over. Locke then reveals that it was he who hit Sayid over the head when he was trying to triangulate the distress signal. This enrages Sayid, who pulls the gun on Locke and questions him about the hatch. Locke lies, saying Boone was talking about the plane’s hatches.

Hi, you mention the extended Latin alphabet; could you explain what that means? I thought some of your examples were actually Greek (beta for example) but I imagine you know what you are talking about so I would appreciate the information. :Well, the basic Latin alphabet is just the standard twenty-six letters from A through Z. The extended Latin alphabet include all kinds of diacritic-based variations of basic Latin letters (such as ä, í, è, û, ...) as well as all supplements which exist in languages which basically use the Latin alphabet, but have extended it somewhat (like the German ß, the Icelandic ð and þ, the Scandinavian ø, the Azerbaijani ə). I see no problem with using all those characters in article titles and text. Japanese, Chinese, Arabian and so on should, of course, be transliterated. &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 15:42, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello Nightstallion. I've been looking for the exact date when Morocco's application was rejected. Unfortunately, I've found nothing so far on the Internet. The only somewhat promising text I found was from Collier's Year Book which is part of Encarta CDROM encyclopaedia. However, Marocco's entry there for 1987 only contained the following: "Moroccan Foreign Minister Abdellatif Filali formally presented Rabat's application for EEC membership in Brussels on July 21. Since EEC members are required to be both European and full democracies, the Moroccan application faced an uphill battle." This information is already contained in the article here. As for other countries, I'll try to find other snippets of information when I find time, but I wouldn't be too hopeful. Hope you'll be luckier than me. Best regards. --RedZebra 13:08, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

While working with Jin, Michael suddenly becomes ill. Jack, having returned from the hatch, examines Michael and searches for the cause of the illness, eventually discovering partially dissolved drugs in a water bottle. At the same time, Walt explains to Locke that he didn’t drug his father. When Locke touches Walt’s arm, however, he becomes frightened, telling Locke not to open the hatch.

Have you by chance heard anymore about when St.-Martin and St.-Barth leave Guadeloupe and take up their new status? I had read over the summer that it all was to take effect around now, but somehow the status got delayed in Paris. The guy who runs World Statesmen told me that he heard the law had to be passed by now and if it was done, it would take effect on Jan 1, '07. - Thanks, Hoshie 02:48, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Sawyer walks up to Michael and teases him about his illness. Michael becomes angry and kicks Sawyer off the raft. Sawyer decides that he’s had enough, and exposes Kate to everyone. Stealing her bag, he opens it and shows that Kate had stolen a passport, forcing Kate to reveal that she was the person in the Marshal’s custody.
:Dear Hoshie and Nightstallion, this is what I heard about St. Barth from my friends there: the Senate voted to accept the change on Oct. 31, but the National Assembly must adopt the document before the change becomes official. France is holding presidential elections next year (primary in April and the final vote in May, 2007) so there are some changes in the parliamentary sessions, the next one being shortened, which I think creates some anxiety: they don't really know if the National Assembly will have time to debate and vote on the changes in time. I've heard that Bruno Magras, Mayor of Saint Barth (uhm is that mayor for life?? ;) He, he. Well, the man is good at what he does, but he's been holding positions of power on that islands for as long as I can remember!) is pushing hard for it to be brought up for debate in the National Assembly ASAP, like late January, but even so, it's not sure that the changes can be approved and put into effect by the end of the session, which is at the end of Feb. ::I can confirm that, yes. ==New party==
In flashbacks, Kate returns to her home town to see her dying mother, and meets up with former boyfriend Tom Brennan, who is now a doctor at the hospital. This visit prompts the two to dig up a lunchbox time capsule. Among the items in the capsule were Tom's toy airplane and a recording of the two of them some years earlier. Later, with Tom's help, Kate is able to be alone with her mother, who begins screaming for help upon seeing her. Forced to escape, she runs into Tom, who gives her keys to his car and joins her. When police try to block them, Kate tells Tom to leave, but he refuses. As the police fire at the car, Kate rams their vehicle before crashing into another. After the car stops, Kate looks over at Tom and finds him dead. Left with no choice but to flee, Kate runs.

That night, Kate and Sawyer say goodbye, while Walt confesses to Michael that he was responsible for the fire that destroyed the first raft. Walt says he did it because he wanted to stay on the island, which prompts Michael to say they can stay. However, Walt insists that they have to leave.

Question mark
Early the next morning, Rousseau arrives at the beach to warn the survivors that the "Others" are coming. Telling the assembled survivors her story, Danielle reveals that she was pregnant when she came to the island. After she gave birth, her baby was kidnapped by the "Others", their arrival heralded by a column of black smoke. Jack initially dismisses her warning, telling Locke that the launch of the raft is the top priority. When Michael says that there's too much to do, Jack assembles everyone to aid its completion. As the group pushes the raft to the ocean, it becomes unbalanced, damaging the mast. During the ensuing argument, Walt notices a column of black smoke in the distance.

I noticed your comment here Talk:Partij voor Naastenliefde, Vrijheid en Diversiteit#Title "it should not include a "&"; this character screws up all attempts to watch or unwatch the page, for instance, as one has to manually insert the html code for "&" into the address bar." I know this comment was in May but is it a problem you still have? I don't appear to have any problems with a question mark and my watch list. Try User:Nil Einne/Sandbox/Trying question & mark if you want. I'm using Firefox 2.0. I'm not planning to create or rename any pages with the ampersand/question mark/& but was just wondering whether it's really a wikimedia problem that's been fixed or it was/is a browser problem. A now disturbed Jack asks Rousseau for help, and shows her the hatch. When Locke offers that dynamite could probably open it, Rousseau says she will take them to the "Black Rock". Jack then organizes a team including Locke, Kate, Hurley, and Arzt, who volunteers to come to help handle the dynamite. In the meantime, Jin and Michael try to fix the raft. When they dismiss Sawyer's offer of help, he goes off to cut a new mast himself. While in the jungle, Jack comes up to give Sawyer a gun for protection, and Sawyer takes the opportunity to tell Jack of his conversation with Christian, Jack's father, in Sydney. Sawyer says goodbye and leaves as Jack seems succumbed by the moment.

Simply put, there wasn't much in there beyond a statement that the elections were going to be held and an infobox. I realize that this is a future event, but there just wasn't anything IMO to go on. - Lucky 6.9 17:10, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Later that day, Jack meets another passenger on his flight in the airport lounge, Ana Lucia Cortez, while Sawyer is told that he is being placed on Flight 815 because he is being deported by the Australian government. Also, Kate is turned over to the Marshal's custody for the flight, and during a conversation with the customs guard, the Marshal reveals that he had baited Kate with Tom's toy airplane. When he denigrates Tom's memory, Kate attacks him, but is subdued.

Back at the check-in, Shannon waits for Boone to get them a first-class upgrade, when Sayid asks her to watch his bag. She agrees, but when Boone returns without an upgrade, she leaves the bag. As Boone chastises her, she walks up to a security agent, telling them that an Arab man left his bag unattended. Meanwhile, Sun and Jin are eating in the airport restaurant, with Sun bringing Jin coffee. When Sun overhears comments from an arrogant American couple, she is momentarily rattled and spills the coffee on Jin's lap.

hello there,
As the hatch team heads toward the "Black Rock", Arzt turns back at the start of the Dark Territory, but quickly returns to the group, chased by the "monster". After hiding from it, Danielle explains that it is a "security system" protecting the island. Heading deeper into the jungle after this encounter, they eventually arrive at a wooden shipwreck: the Black Rock.

As the raft prepares for launch, Sayid gives the team a radar emitter and flare gun, while Charlie gathers messages to put in a bottle and Walt leaves Vincent with Shannon. Sun says goodbye to Jin, handing him a notebook of English nautical terms. This encourages him speak to her and he says that he will still go, but because he wants to rescue her from the island. After all the goodbyes, the raft team sets off, and when Vincent attempts to follow, Walt tells him to turn back and the raft sails away from shore.

In the distance, the column of smoke continues to rise.
Hey, how are you? Having a look at the discussion of the article in question I could notice how you congratulated and supported the SACN. I just wanna thank you for your nice words and your feeling for South America as a whole. Unfortunately, I cannot see the changes we were supposed to experience with the Union. Recently, there has been a meeting in which every associate member agreed to revoke the so-called visa. This visa, as you may know, was a compulsory and expensive document required when travelling from one country to the other. I'm pretty sure this fact is really important for us as a subcontinent, because it allows everyone to cross the border for a maximum of 90 days without showing any documentation.
Anyway, there are still many things to do. I hope we can see the difference in a couple of years time.
Greetings from an Uruguayan citizen living in the European Union (and as things go on, soon an EU citizen).

Hi Nightstallion,

In List of European Union member states by accession you have made this edit. However the EU states differently here. May i ask why?
At the Black Rock, Danielle turns and leaves the group, saying that she has done what she was asked to do. Jack, Kate and Locke enter the ship to retrieve the explosives, and bring a crate outside. Arzt angrily stops them, explaining the dangers of handling old dynamite. During the explanation, he becomes careless and a stick detonates, spraying the rest of the group with blood and gore.
The EU does not refer to the Turkish Community as "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" either. Dont you think wikipedia should go by EU states?

Despite Arzt's death, the group decides to continue, and begin wrapping the dynamite in wet cloth, with Locke suggesting that two sets be wrapped, in case one of the carriers doesn't make it to the hatch. When Locke, Jack, and Kate all volunteer to carry dynamite, they draw straws to determine who will do so, with Jack the odd man out.

That evening, as they walk to the hatch, Locke and Jack have a confrontation about the encounter with the security system, during which Locke and Jack debate whether their presence is fate or not. The group arrives at the hatch. Jack and Locke set the dynamite up on the hinge of the hatch, and are about to set it off when Hurley notices the increasingly common numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 on the side. He yells at them not to light the fuse, but Locke does so anyway. Hurley frantically tries to stamp it out, carelessly walking closer and closer to the dynamite in the process, shouting, "The numbers are bad!" Trying to save Hurley, Jack tackles him moments before the dynamite explodes.

On the raft, everything is going smoothly. Michael takes the opportunity to bond with Walt, while he in turn learns about Sawyer's long-term search for revenge. Jin also gives his new friend, Michael, Mr. Paik's watch, for which he had nearly killed Michael a few weeks earlier. At one point, the rudder breaks off, and Sawyer dives into the water after it, risking his life. After Sawyer makes it back on board, Michael discovers that Sawyer has a gun, but decides not to tell the others.

That night, the group turns on the radar system as instructed by Sayid. Much to their surprise, their radar sweep turns up something in the distance. They fire their single flare, and the object approaches them. As it nears, it turns on a bright searchlight, and the group rejoices that another craft has found them. Thinking they are about to be saved, they welcome the people on board.

However, the boat's crew turns out to be a group of strangers who demand that Walt be handed over to them. Sawyer tries to pull his gun, but he is shot by one of the crewmen and falls into the water. Jin jumps in to save Sawyer, while the strangers overpower Michael and kidnap Walt. As they sail off, a woman throws an explosive on to the raft, destroying it. Michael cries out for Walt as he watches his son disappear into the darkness.

Hi Nightstallion. I noticed your amendment to WP:NAME#Elections () regarding future elections. There seems to be a chnage here from the 30th Irish general election format to your new Next Irish general election format. Does this reflect a general consensus on the best naming convention for future elections? I only ask because I didn't see it being discussed anywhere, and the intro to WP:NAME says please ensure that your revision reflects consensus. On the beach, Sayid organizes the group at the beach for a retreat to the caves, while Charlie attempts to prepare Claire for carrying the baby. The two are alone when Rousseau runs up looking for Sayid. Charlie runs off to get him, leaving Claire with Rousseau. During their time alone, Claire notices the scratches on Rousseau's arm and momentarily flashes back to a forgotten encounter with Danielle. Rousseau kidnaps the baby from Claire.

Well, then
Sayid guesses that Rousseau plans to exchange the baby, whom Claire has now named Aaron, for her own daughter, Alex, who'd been taken years earlier. Charlie and Sayid arm themselves and take off into the jungle after Danielle, heading in the direction of the black smoke. Early on, they take a break at the Beechcraft, a moment during which Sayid, unaware of Charlie's addiction, reveals that it is full of heroin. Later, Charlie runs into a trap Danielle had set and receives an injury to the head. Sayid orders Charlie back to camp, but he refuses, so Sayid uses a field medicine technique to staunch the bleeding and cauterize the wound.

I'm pretty sure we haven't always seen eye to eye (I even opposed your RFA, as I recall), so I am all the more appreciative of your support for mine and your confidence in me. When Sayid and Charlie arrive on the beach, they discover it is just a pyre, with no people around. The sound of a baby crying alerts them to Rousseau hiding in the bushes, and when they call out to her, she emerges with it in her arms. A distraught Danielle says that she overheard the Others say they were coming for "the boy," and she believed they'd return Alex to her if she brought him to them. She returns the baby, and the pair return to the caves, at which the other survivors had arrived some time earlier. After reuniting the baby with Claire, the survivors settle in to wait for the hatch group's return, while Charlie hides the heroin-filled statue in his bag.

Flashbacks again show the survivors in the hours before the flight. That morning, as Jin heads to the restroom to clean up some coffee Sun had accidentally spilled on him, Sayid is released from airport security, as the agents apologize for causing him any inconvenience. While in the restroom, Jin encounters a man who explains that he works for Mr. Paik. Back at a hotel, Charlie frantically looks for his stash before heading to the airport. His companion from the previous evening also wants the drugs, and the two fight over them, before the woman leaves the room in anger. At the airport, Michael goes to call his office while Walt is absorbed in playing video games, However, Michael is actually calling his mother, with whom he pleads to take care of Walt for him. When she refuses, Michael hangs up, to discover Walt standing behind him, possibly having heard the whole conversation.

Meanwhile, Hurley wakes up late for his flight due to a localized power failure. In a mad dash for the airport, he experiences several other problems, including full elevators, a flat tire, arriving at the wrong terminal, a slow check-in agent, having to buy a second ticket, and so on. Despite all these setbacks, Hurley makes the flight at the last possible moment. Earlier, Locke was also nearly prevented from boarding because the wheelchair normally used for disabled passengers was missing. Locke, frustrated and struggling to maintain his dignity, consents to being carried onto the plane.

Your revert at Single-party state.
In a final flashback of the boarding of the flight, all the passengers take their seats. Hurley, late to the flight, makes his way to his seat, where he catches Walt's eye. As Walt smiles, Hurley gives him a thumbs up before taking his seat and taking out the comic book Walt later would read on the island. Arzt helps Claire put her bag in the overhead compartment, while Jack and Locke briefly acknowledge each other.

Hello, Nightstallion. There is an ongoing content dispute at Single-party state. Although your use of rollback during a content dispute constitutes abuse of administrator privileges, I have decided to assume good faith and consider the possibility that you made a mistake.
At the hatch, Jack and Locke force the now broken door off the hinge and look inside. They look down into the darkness of the shaft below.

I have been/am reverting your moves of these pages. If you want to rename the articles, please (a) discuss the matter on the appropriate talk pages, and (b) make sure you move the talk pages WITH the articles themselves. == Hey ==

Hello this is an interesting user page. I was browsing through your template of userboxes and noticed you 'believed in the existance of a human soul of spirit'. On the main page however you said your religion was 'strong atheism'. I was of the opinion that mainstream atheists rejected the idea of a soul. Anyway I'm not insulting your beliefs or anything like that, I'm just curious as to what you mean. 124.177.4.129 14:12, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
:Well, it's kind of complicated and I'm not quite sure myself -- hell, who is, anyway? I certainly don't believe in any kind of god or gods, and I strongly doubt all kinds of esoteric things, but I have a certain feeling that there's something special about living beings that makes me believe that there's some kind of "soul", "spirit", "essence of being" or something close to that, call it what you want. I do realise that it's a contradiction of some sort, but I haven't really managed to think it through yet. &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 16:20, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Date of next Thai election
Hi there! I noticed that you changed the name of the Next Thai legislative election article to Thai legislative election, 2007 and also changed the Thailand crisis template to specificy 2007 as the time of the next election.

However, the latest announcement of the junta puts the timing of the next election at sometime in 2008. See here "Drafting new charter 'may take 17 mths'". Since the junta has flip-flopped quite a bit on the timing for the next election over the past months, I don't think we should presume to state when the election should occur. Best just to say that it has been promised some time in the future. The article should, IMO, be titled Thai legislative election, post-2006 coup until a very very firm date is scheduled. Your thoughts? Patiwat 20:31, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
:I absolutely agree with your reasoning, but would name it next Thai legislative election instead, to mirror similar pages already on Wikipedia. If you're okay with that, I'll promptly move it and change all double redirects. &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 20:34, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

::If that's how other articles do it, then I'm OK. However, it does seem a bit awkward - since somebody will have to change the article name the moment a date is scheduled. And if the junta decides to push back the date again, the article title will also have to be changed. Patiwat 06:24, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

:::Still, that's the way it should be: A date in the name if the date has been set, "next" (or in special cases like Canada the number of the election) if the date hasn't been set yet. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, BTW! &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 12:06, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

* We have a project structure that allows for the formation of special interest task forces (al la "WP:MILHIST".) This was mentioned last month and a few have indicated interest. This is useful for identifying groups of Novels editors who have a common interest. (i.e. Science fiction novels, Crime Novels, Children's novels, Classic literature, Russian novels etc.) Would there be interest out there in setting one or more of these up. Comments please to the General Forum. Hi,

I understand what you're doing with the demonyms. But when you get to New Taiwan dollar, can you take extra consideration? For some reason, that is the official translation. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 09:22, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

New Ryūkyū vs. Ryukyu poll
Hello. You participated in the Ryūkyū Islands vs. Ryukyu Islands vote that resulted in no consensus at Talk:Ryūkyū Islands. That vote is being redone at Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_%28Japan-related_articles%29#Poll:_.22Ry.C5.ABky.C5.AB.22_instead_of_.22Ryukyu.22. . If you still have an opinion, please participate in the new poll before it is concluded. Bendono 00:50, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

; Issue of the Month

Wikipedia's standards are improving all the time, with the result that many articles in The Beatles Wikiproject are being nominated for review of their FA and GA status - and many are losing that accolade. It is difficult, with such a large number of articles and the ease with which editors may make changes which are detrimental, to maintain the standard of articles, let alone improve them. As ever, members efforts are both appreciated and needed to keep the Project on course.

; Beatles News

* A Beatles compilation called "Love", featuring tracks remastered by George Martin (with his son Giles), has been released and has made number 1 in Canada.

* The impending divorce between Paul McCartney and the former Heather Mills continues to make the pages in the tabloid press in the UK.

; Project News

* New to the Project Log is the nomination of four articles for consideration as suitable for collaboration, in the manner in which Paul McCartney is now being edited, once the aforementioned article is completed. The nominations are George Harrison, Apple Corp, The Beatles(!!), all proposed by Kingboyk and John Lennon, proposed by LuciferMorgan. Interested editors should make themselves known on the various article talk pages.

* Three new articles have been listed in the Project Log since 1 November, being Wings tours by Kingboyk, and List of Beatles concerts and Mathew Street, both by Liverpool Scouse.

* The hottest Project page this month has been Paul McCartney (see above and below).

* Another Project article, I Want to Hold Your Hand, has lost its FA status and both Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and Beatles For Sale have lost their GA (Good Article) status. In the meantime, Real Love is being considered at WP:FARC. Some great news is that Paul McCartney has passed its nomination for GA status, although with the polite request that the introduction be looked at.

; Member News

* New members to the project since the last issue include mrmaroon25, <font face="Papyrus"><span style="color:#0c0">K</span><span style="color:#f90">yo cat</span></font> and "I Am the Eggman".

| rowspan="2" style="border: 1px gray solid; padding: 1em; vertical-align: top;" |

; From the Editors

If one is to be mercenary about the subject, it should be noted that Paul McCartney is going to be more noteworthy than usual in the near future as his divorce case comes to court. In that case it is great to note that a small group of Project Members (plus another individual who does not feel compelled to register himself despite important contributions) have worked very hard, and in an atmosphere of good humour, to take the McCartney piece to a succesful Good Article nomination. Perhaps this is the method to use for future articles, a small dedicated team concentrating on one subject at a time. Of course, all members are invited to join any existing group or even go about forming their own. Please note any such action in the Project Log.

If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!

Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 009 &ndash; January 2007). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

Concordia Newsletter
<big>NEWSLETTER</big>

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

Help out now!
*Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
*Give people the Civility Barnstar.
*Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
*Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
*Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

Decision Making
The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

Armen Sargsyan
Hi! (it's been a long time...)

I have a new problem with an anonymous user. I had renamed Armen Sarkissian into Armen Sargsyan since it's the correct transcription of his name Արմեն Սարգսյան. An anonymous user has reverted it using cut and paste : . He has some reasons to do so that he explained... on another page! (Talk:Aram Sargsyan). I copied and pasted his argumentation on Talk:Armen Sargsyan. Since those reasons don't convince me, I suppose I could simply revert his erasing of the Armen Sargsyan page, but I'm sure he'll do it again in the future. What advice could you give to me except to make a cup of hot tea and watch a SF film? Švitrigaila 23:46, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

PS: Now Armen Sargsyan is a redirect to Armen Sarkissian and Talk:Armen Sarkissian is a redirect to Talk:Armen Sargsyan !! :o( Švitrigaila 23:49, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

:I have something to say that is not directly related to the original intent of this discussion. There is a Portal:European Union/Member states and Portal:European Union/Member States with the latter being a preview. It mostly looks fine to me, Joe, though the "euro-region" bit in Hungary has to be wrong (most notably because euroregions are transnational cooperative measures within the Union, not subnational administrative entities), and all dates should be linked. One could also question the very differing content and information included for the different countries -- why is it special that Lithuania joined the WTO, or that Greece and Spain joined the euro, and so on? &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 12:57, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
:Mainly the reason for the differing content was because of the country article itself. I used what I could find, but tried to make them similar, such as government types, borders and multinational organization memberships. I'll get the links and clean up Hungry. I'm sorry, I didn't understand your question - about which flags was it? --Branislav Jovanovic 07:53, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

It's gonna be hard to take it to ArbCom since thr RfC isn't even gonna get off the ground, since I need two signatories. Huaiwei evidently knows the rules well and uses it to play a game. You need two persons to sign an RfC, and nobody seems willing to sign an RfC unless they are the one personally being insulted, and you can ony bring up one dispute per RfC. The result: You can, in any dispute, insult one person, and nothing will happen. Funny rules... --Regebro 14:27, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
:I'd sign it, but it has been ages since I've clashed in any of the Hong Kong/Singapore/... issues with Huaiwei or any of the other editors regularily involved... &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 14:42, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Tropical cyclone activity
*One hurricane, Hurricane Sergio, formed in the eastern Pacific. Sergio was the longest lasting November Pacific hurricane recorded. Two other tropical cyclones, Tropical Storm Rosa and a tropical depression formed in the basin. None of the systems affected land.
*An unusual extratropical cyclone developed in the northern central Pacific, resembling a subtropical cyclone at its peak.
*A total of three typhoons formed in the western Pacific, and all the storms followed a similar track across the Philippines. Typhoon Cimaron formed at the end of October and lasted into November, killing 19 people. Typhoon Chebi existed during the middle of the month and was the weakest of the three causing minor damages. The most devastating storm of the month, Typhoon Durian hit the Philippines on November 30, killing at least 720 people in the island nation.
*Two named cyclones developed in the Southern Hemisphere, Tropical Cyclone Yani in the South Pacific and Moderate Tropical Storm Anita in the Southwest Indian Ocean. Two unnamed depression also formed in the South Pacific. None of these storms affected land.

Editorial

The lateness of this edition is due to me being on an wikibreak and no-one taking up the slack. My wikibreak was the result of a lightning strike damaging my internet connection and frying my router, and the time taken for the replacement to arrive. As this issue is almost 3 weeks later than planned, only the monthly cyclone activity for November has been included. The next letter will be produced for January 7, 2006 and will be larger than normal to cover both month's Wikipedia news and December's tropical activity. There will be no Member or Storm of the month in January, to reduce the length; and the newsletter will return to normal in February.--Nilfanion (talk) 21:59, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Dear Nightstallion,

I noticed that you have a lot of experience with getting articles to FA status. I have been working on the Ohio Wesleyan University page article and am trying to get it to FA status. I was wondering if you could provide some advice on how the article can be improved? Also, any contributions to it will be even more appreciated! Thank you so much for your time! I greatly appreciate it! WikiprojectOWU 01:52, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Romania
I was under the impression Romania had cribbed the French 5th republic constitution pretty much wholesale, so assumed foreign summits would fall under the President's jurisdiction. Wikipedia has Romania listed as semi-presidential elsewhere. The Tom 19:00, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
:Interestingly, it looks like though just the Bulgarian PM has been there as an observer at recent EU summits, invitations have been extended to both the Romanian President and PM, who've both been attending. That makes Romania the only state on the invite list to get two head-of-government-type invites. I can't imagine that'll continue into 2007. The Tom 19:13, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
::Similar situations where when Finland and Austria joined and the presidents also wanted to attend the summits; in the end, the prime ministers won. I'm fairly certain this will also be the case for Romania... &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 00:08, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Template:Infobox Country
Hi Nightstallion,
: (moved Template:Infobox Country or territory to Template:Infobox Country: rv moves, this is *really* unnecessary detail.)

:Depends on your definition, but the distinction is minor enough not to be worth it in my opinion. &mdash;<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Nightst</span><font color="green"><span style="font-variant:small-caps">a</span></font><span style="font-variant:small-caps">llion</span> (?) 13:15, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

:: Well, let's see what happens. Another apparent benefit that prompted me to add the "or territory" is that "Country or territory" accomodates both those whose POV is that place X is a territory as well as those whose POV is that place X is a country, without it suggesting a stance either way. (Hence my suggestion to use "Country or territory" in category names.) &nbsp;Hope Christmas was fun! &nbsp;Best wishes, David <span style="font-size:90%;">(talk)</span> 22:09, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry for soliciting again... I've made a mistake. :o|

I wanted to rename Empress Dowager Shōken into Empress Shōken (see Talk:Empress Teimei for the explaination) and instead I have renamed only the talk page. And I can't rename the article's name by myself, the move is protected, so the page and its talk page are dissociated. May you, please, rename the article or, if you don't want to, may you rename back the talk page ? Thanks in advance. Švitrigaila 13:21, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
